Well its fun and games, after seeing that site that tells you if you are insured or not, i put birds car in and it came up with nothing!

So here is the story...

She uses a insurance brokers, her insurance is done 6monthly (why i dont know) she gets the renewal through and goes up pays it...

Her last renewal was in october, she went up and paid it (she thinks anyway, will confirm later with paperwork)

She rung them up today and the guy there said, oh no you arent insured since october...

They have no reference of the payment, which i will be able to confirm so will leave that for now.

But their excuse they gave was, that the insurance company had stopped doing 6monthly ones, and only do annual, and THEY had not picked up on it and not sent a reminder or anything through.

So basically someone has fucked up big time there, as my bird been thinking she been insured for last few months but hasnt, how on earth can a insurance company, and brokers let this happen?

If my bird can confirm she got a reminder through, and went up and paid it... what to do then?

Basically if she can prove that she paid then, then I would assume that she would get this money back having paid for a service but not received it. But what ever happens I would get her insured ASAP because if she gets stopped by the police they are not going to care about the situation... (well they might do, but ask her to prove that she thought she had insurance...)

yeha my thoughts exactly, but what gets me is i drive her car third party on any other car, if i had got stopped (more chance than her lol) i would have been screwed!

Hi,

Best thing for you or your girlfriend to do is find as much paperwork as you have to show the renewal and any bank statements that show the money taken and take it to the broker as evidence.

Also are they ruled by the F.S.A? If so complain straight to them about it.

Adrian flux and Brentacre are brokers. Plenty of people use those.

yeah i ment general insurance, flux and brentacre are more specialised, i just mean with the internet today making things easier for everyday normal people....
