Well have been looking for a decent based polo, basicly didnt care what engine just a half decent shell with out much rust. So when to check out martinb's Genesis and brought it. It was a dirty slag but that soon changed after 5 hours of work yesterday with help from barkshire. Here is the progress so far.

Went out for a little photoshoot, pics a bit crappy , need a tripod.

Painted black grill badge, rear polo badge's

Took off bumpstripes

wash , polish , wax

Chrome handle inserts

Cd player and speaker

Pressed plates, (still need to fix front on)

Dewiperd rear.

My aim is to stick a 1.4 GT engine in her, if not just GT her, probably 70/60, i want to make her nice a smooth, maybe up to show spec for late 08.

halfords mate... for £2.99 u can buy a 30 piece selsction box with 2 x wiper grommets and 2 x aerial plugs too really good, cheap mods.

i put 100% comitment in to tht 5 hours as right at the beggining i cut 2 of ma fingers up from a shard of glass in the engine bay! propa cained and made me not half able or we would have done loads more (the pain is shown in the pic of me using my LEFT HAND!!!) (right handed btw) so felt like i twash trying to work on it with scott, but he came up nicely next to clean up engine bay etc even though i am scared of what will try and cut me this time lol

we'll keep you posted, and deffo gettin tripod...

Dont think there oem ones, but I'm going to try and mod them so they sit in the holes instead of out.

Mart i was going to do just that, but was speaking to steve last night and I'm going to go in a differnt direction. Somthing that i personaly haven't seen on here.

Car is fine, bodywork is mint, apart from a few little scraches here and there, the rear offside arch is a little worse for ware, but tbh i could repair that in a days work. Its got 144 thousand miles on the clock, bit of history. I'm just happy with the wheels that came. Most of the stuff is on my car now apart from wheels and suspension n few little bit's. Will update with some shots, if its not wet tomorow.

Yeh barkshire should be having the GT off me, if not will be up for sale soon. Also i have some nice little extra going up for sale, including 4 branch , Ported and polished throttle body, G40 arches, golf afm with filter. Will chuckem up for sale when there ready
