how the F*&k does this work out?!?!?!

Featured Replies

right,

I am looking into insuring my first car and i always knew it would be majory exspensive but this is silly.

After seeing Spens MK1 i fell in love, so i went out and started getting quotes, i was exspecting it to fall a few hundred short of £2000 but no, £2950 i have got it so far! thats on a 1982 1.0 mk1 golf with PP, garaged, car1 alarm and immobiliser...

Then i qot a quote for a MR2 Rev 3 T-bar (late night borrdem causes these things) and this came back at £3200...

Why is there only £250 between a jappanese supercar and a 1.0l golf?

it really makes no sense to me!

It's good that you have done pass plus as well.

Dan.

wow.. thats a high figure!

insurance on my classic mini is £2300. Thats fully comp, an agreed value of £8000, cat 1 alarm, limited milage of 3000 a year, track day cover. I'm 21 nearly, 3.5 years driving, no claims or conviction, zero no claims (was always a named driver). Thats through MiniWorld Insurance (HIC), one of the only places that would even go near me!

Adrian Flux quoted me £3500 TPFT agreed value of only £6000 and no track cover :(

I've not rung around for quotes on the polo yet, but from their reputation i'll probs try HIC firstt. (1600 converted '83 breadvan) Shame you are under 19 :(

I had a similiar stupidity quote from my insurers although they are the cheapest I could find. When I was lookin around for a polo came across a 1.6 Mk1 Golf Clipper cab which was only £200 more than the quote for my 1.4 8v now!?!

i used cis first was bout 1k on a 6n polo 1 litre in the old mans name

then

ecarinsurance on a 306 d turbo for 1k in my own name

then

swinton on the G40 £2.5k tpft in my own name

and

admiral on the GT £1.4k tpft lots of mods for me n the missus

i'm moving to BRENTACRE next year though as they have quoted me bout £1k saving over my 2 policies!!!!!

Check them out mate their VW specialists...
