Burning lots of songs onto 1disc

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

what format do i use to burn like 30-50 songs roughly onto one disc so i can listen to in car? what format gives good sound quality when squeezed so much?

and how do i go about burning it onto the cd as all songs are in different formats at present.

all relative i suppose.

thanks

Main thing it depends on is what formats your headunit can play, guessing MP3? lots will play WMA and some can play AAC and ATRAC etc

I tend to burn MP3 cds, most of my music is in 192kbps+ (vast majority being 256-320kbps), so it's not as good as cd quality but still pretty near, but then pretty much all my tracks are in mp3 so it's quicker than having to re-encode

depends on track lengths but guess you're looking at ~100 tracks? (assuming average size is around 7mb?)

Thanks AMD Man, but how do i burn it so that it fits onto one cd?

when i put blank disc in, it shows how much disk space left and a normal 15ish track nearly completes it.

what program are you using to burn it?

when you burn an "audio cd" the software converts all your tracks to the format that music cds use, so that it's playable in normal cd players, however if your headunit can play mp3 cds then you can burn a data cd with mp3 files on it, you'll get a lot more songs on an mp3 cd because mp3 files are compressed

no its not mp3 compatiable

so does that mean i cannot do it or can i get round it?

If the CD player doesn't support any form of file compression then you'll have to live with about 15 songs per CD.

Dope!
