The for sale section is limited to just VW cars and parts...

I've just looked in the cars for sale section and i can see puntos vtrs astra vans, fair enough your trying to sell them, but its a polo forum, i for one dont want any of the cars i just listed, and it bumps down the cars that should be there...

It turns it into nothing but an autotrader, i know it happens rarely, happening more and more these days, but it might be time to control it?

And everyone is getting trigger happy at quoting the DONT RESPOND UNLESS INTRESTED IN BUYING

someone quoted that when my mate pulled someone for advertising some silver surfer comics, and i just seen someone advertising a punto and someone said "not another punto for sale?"

which i think is a valid point from, a high post count paid member, and the response comes from a low post count member, not even his original post!...

hmm hmm

Agreed! I posted in that advert, not nagging just lauffing about the amount of non vw's for sale on a forum called clubpolo!

I dont mind other types of cars, but if i wanted to buy a certian type of car i would find a forum related to them

I'm new on this forum but from using vwaudi and clug gti forums iv noticed they are more strict than cp. on one you can only put adds up after a minimum of about 5 posts so they take it you actually take an interest in the cars etc and aren't just after free advertising, and the other you have to have your ad screened by moderators before its put up on the forum, to stop spam, and nobody replies to it on the forum page. they just pm if interested or ring a contact number. helps keep things clutter free!

they are only my observations :-)

agreed it is getting a bit overrun... off with their heads! :p

agreed.

also i think we should have a e38 style classifds with sub catagries like ' engine' 'ice'' ect

it would make it so much easyer to find parts . i find the search dosnt alsways work for me

I think its a good idea to put stricter rules in place. I've seen some people who's 1st post (and last?) has been just to advertise a load of stuff in for sale. Maybe a minimum post count is the best option to start with. Also I think to keep it VAG is good in the cars section...

Generally I try and give people who time waste in the for sale section a slap on the wrists but obviously you can't be everywhere at once.

Which is why we have the report button so you can inform us about threads that need some moderation. However, not many people seem to use it.

So if you see something that needs sorting out hit the report button so something can be done!!

yeah this forum is pritty laid back with the sales section, but checking them etc like mentioned is a ball ache

i just think maybe, and i know it was taken away, but a none vw section would be a good section, can have cars in, pritty much anything.

Now please, dont sigh mod team as i know you will lol

the section went for reasons you made aware which is all good, but i cant help think it is a bit of a big loss.

Just for example i am currently have a massive clear out at home, and i have stuff that i really just dont want anymore, stuff I'm practically giving away, but wouldnt give it to any tom dick off street, but i would happily sell to a fellow club polo user...

Would be great to have it as i really liked that section before, i can see the bad points (dodgy users etc) but, i can see the numerous good points, say someone selling something, it be a user i know, and can trust, and i think yeah i will take that...

Even make the section club members only? or something?

i dunno, would be great tho :D

i dont really get why people advertise non vag cars on this forum. if your looking for a non vag car, you dont look on clubpolo ffs!

dknight has a good point with a general stuff subforum which could include nonvagers

agree

it is getting abit out of control i say a ban to them all muhahaha

if u aint owning a vw piss off

Yup, delete all the non VAG cars. I've owned two before (Ok, I'm sorry alright?) and i'm never going back and i don't want to be looking through all the parts/cars for sale to find them bumping my stuff down.

Christ, i'd be on autotrader if i wanted them, not on bloody here.

Totally agree about a general stuff forum. I end up just throwing it out as i aint being stung in my pocket by ebay anytime soon. SHould be members only or subject to a post count.

i disagree with the point people are making about it just being vag, 'The for sale section is limited to just VW cars and parts...' people buy seats from other cars like rover half leathers and stuff, and then sell them one once they have fitted them to there polo (adapted the sub frames etc), so they should be on the polo site (because there for fitting to a polo), but there still from a rover which aint VAG so i dont agree. how do people go about selling audio equipment, which isnt made by vag, yet alot of people run other makes in there car and sell it on. People run renault turbines on there polos, then offer them onto other CP members, what do they need to do, list it on a renault site, then fill the polo section with links to the web site that there for sale on?

i think it may be a good idea, for a section for non polo parts and then a non polo car for sale section, people drive polos but doesnt mean thats they can only drive polos, people drive and want other non vag cars!

edit: i also agree with the members only for selling, but non-members can view the section, and also the number of post's, ebay and autotrader charge people to advertise on there site's, CP members make the payment for membership which keeps CP running, so people wanting to sell things should have to pay to advertise/become a member, everybody benifits them.

I'd love to see all the ass-rimming stopped in the for sale forum.

Comments like: "Awesome car, have a free pump"..I mean...errr bump and "WOW THIS IS PIMP!" are almost as bad as slander.

How about deleting those?

Phree bump for a decent post ^^^

in this case as its club polo maybe only polo's and parts specificly designed for the polo should be allowed to be advertised?

i agree about all this bumping and shit, its starting to get a bit like ed38 (there sale section has more cock sucking and ass licking than a German porn film).

i can see your point polo-shuff6n, but thats mearly an extreme, and if we had a none vag section it could happily live in there...

in regards to wheels and amps, these are 2 more extremes, that people can figure themselves...

I think the parts for sale just needs a little jigging and it would be fine, as it is so busy in there now, i struggle to even find time to look, within an hour your item can be on page 2, which is annoying....

totaly agree with you mr DK. I strongly agree that there should be seperate sections,

Cars, Vag / Non-Vag,

Parts, what about seperating it up like the technical section:

wheels, tyres, maybe brakes etc,

engine, gearbox (running gear) maybe brakes,

interor,

ice (maybe) paper work, for haynes manuals, hand books etc.

problem we get then is i find myself not checking some parts of the technical section, i think it just needs a small bit of oganising then it will work much better :D
