It does, i used to work for churchill, and although people say its a certain group, the insurance companies then break those groups down even more. Its dependent between diff insurance group on how they break them down, as different insurance companied value different things as high risks. For example churchill would insure anyone under the age of 25 if there was any modification on the vehicle at all. even alloys or reverse camera! where as my insurance company 'quinn direct' doesnt care about mods unless its performance related!

any questions just ask, got a whole underwriting guid up hear in me head still

I'm with Quinn, came up top trumps for me on Confused Dot Com ! How much discount do you think i will get after 1 year with you guys ?!

Groupings don't mean so much any more, my Camry's a 12 to my old escort's group 8 IIRC, but the price was more or less the same.

Gt's are 7 and Gt Coupe 8?

i just admin my insure and coupe was cheaper than gt... :?

saved like £30 :-D

Directline

Btw Never ever use norwich union!

Norwich union? Are they the ones that quote you happy but treat you crappy?

yea that sound about right have to call india to get hold of them...

and then even make a "non-fault" claim they take away your 3Years no-claims discount!!

T0ssers....

these comments about norwich union true? lol

just got ma renewal quote gone online and they came up cheapest....do you not recommend them?

I'd highly reccommend them... Direct line said my insurance was void and all I did was put alloys on it!

Norwich Union wanted £30 extra for my alloys... Can't say fairer than that, £620 fully comp 1yr NCB.

yeah but if they screw you over if you actually need to make a claim it isnt such a good deal after all is it?

*touch wood* I won't have to make a claim.....

group 8 is well high, its a 1.3. my mate has a 130bhp focus thats group 8

I will never use norwich union again...

someone pulled out in front of me in dec 06 took them 2months

to even contact me about my car and how much money i was gettin for it,

i had called them 50+ times...then to top it all off my 3yrs no claims bonus

i had earned fair and square over the 3yrs i was them were just taken away from

me because i a "claim is a claim" EVEN THO NOT MY FAULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how does that work EVERY insure company i talk to now say they shouldnt be

able to do that but they seem to think they can...(going to court over it soon)

i personally would NOT recomend them but that because my own exp

i also didnt plan on crashing but what can you do when someone pull out

of junctions on to a duel-carriage way I'm traveling at 55mph about 15foot away

and they decide to pull in front of me he doin less than 20mph...

i would recomend Dircet line or bell came pretty cheap only reason went

with direct line is if you pay monthly they gave me intrest free payments :-D

ecar insurance is pretty good they have been the cheapest for last year and this year  and have english call centers.

Your 1st years ncd should be the biggest discount you get. ring them and ask what discount quicc give! churchill was 35% for 1 year, 45% 2 years, 50% 3 years, 55% 4 years and 60% 5 years. (i think, cant remember xact figures, would just refer to underwriting guide if i was asked)

i just got my renewal through with quinn, for a valver they want £1042.94 third party fire and theft inc service charge 4 me (19 yrs, 2years ncd) and my gf (18, 0 yrs ncd) not to bad. but i think if memory serves me right, i could get it with admiral for around the same price fully comp. so I'm gonna do some hunting, but quinn now comes with free breakdown cover, and they allow driving other vehicles in emergency use!

When i was looking at NCB it seemed that it worked out 10% every year with direct line. Thats why i never finished my policy with kwick fit, it only worked out about 30 quid a year cheaper with 1years NCB
