so you dont need to use my drive on wednesday then?

You've had your arches flared, and weren't expecting your paint to crack?

na mate but thanks anyway

i wouldnt have minded if they had any flare but they cracked when he was rolling

Did he have any heat on them? In all fairness, if you start distorting panels, it is hard not to crack the paint.

just for info - rolling and flaring are two different things. One pushes the inside lip up and the other pushes the arch out.

yes I know that but in order to flare the arches must be rolled first . Took it to a body shop this moarning and they said "what did he use a skateboard wheel welded to a breaker bar!" its going to cost over £300 to sort .not impressed.luke

did u say anything to em ?

I had my arches done by him!? He took forever but the work was fine..!!

How many arches did he do for that price!?

just the rears wasent it?

I had just the rears done by him.. i think!?

Why did luke pay him if they had cracked...

I thought you couldn't help cracking paint when you flare them?

you obviously didn't read their website then.

The dangers - be warned. All work is at YOUR RISK

* Please be aware any work is at your risk. We can advise on any likely problems on inspecting the car but in the end its down to you, its your call. If the bodywork on your car is original and you are looking for a lip roll this carries the smallest risk.

* Possible problems - Badly applied paint can come off, stress cracks can appear in the paint on the rolled edge, sometimes its unavoidable, however they can be covered with some touch up lacquer. Small dents or creases above the arch are weak points and could and become larger etc. Flaring in these cases is not recommended. Rusty arches can and will fall apart. Accident damage/filler are a problem and will almost certainly require subsequent bodywork.

didn't flare much tbh maybe 20ml I would get it done at a body shop costs more. It you can the effect that you want .luke

I had my arches rolled and there wasnt any cracking and that wasnt even done by a sopecific arch rolling company just by a local tuning garage .

To be honest rolling arches on a Mk3 dosent do too much for the looks but it did help with the rubbing issues i was having at the time alot .

he I'm going to book my car in at the body shop at the end of the month

20mm is quite alot, how did you not expect the paint to crack when modifying the metal so much!?

hmm will have to have a look at this luke!

when you next working?

is it a smooth flare or like jasons was?

i could do with getting my front ones done atm, may just bend them myself as ill be cutting them off anyway!

ok not quite 20 ml cant complain really just wanted to no what the other arches he did turned out like

They did my mates arches on a mk2 GTI and lashed it up proper. They wernt flared the same amount each side AND were all wavey down the panels. He ended having to get them cut off and done properly.
