Webber Twin 40's

Featured Replies

Right I'm having to reluctantly sell my Webber Twin 40's. They come with trumps (£90 alone) and lever arms. I bought them a month ago ready for a project on my car, but due to lack of fundage at the moment the dream has been cancelled. So rather than these be sat in my garage doing nothing, waiting for me to get the cash together, i thought i would sell them on to someone who will use them quicker than i will.

They were bought brand new by a friend of mine last year. He had them on his engine for half a week, but never had them tuned and took them off for 45's, so they are virtually as they come brand new. Theres nothing wrong with them in the slightest. I'm willing to send through a delivery or your more than welcome to come pick them up.

Anyone who knows about Carbs know that these arent cheap, and the price I'm asking for them i feel is a very reasonable price.

Yea i apologise with the lack of photos mate, ill get them asap bud. Been manic at work lately and i havnt had time to get some up. They will work on a GT as i bought them for my GT. You just need to get the right manifold made up for it bud. I believe Bogg Bros make custom manifolds. A nice lairy cam would go sweet with it aswell. Like i said previously, i had big plans with these but due to lack of fundage atm it came to a stop.

Bump to the top, now with pics!

Big power increase compared to bike carbs or ITB's?

An extremely noticable difference mate! Plus they look awesome ;)

are they numbered sequentially? (or very near...)

It looks like they should have the bolt-in trumpets, rather than the slot-in's?

In response to the question about comparison to bike carbs or ITB's, you'd probably see a better power increase over bike carbs, plus better tunabilty. ITBs are a whole different kettle of fish!

Webber carbs werent designed to run bolt-on trumpets. They were designed to run slot-ins with two fixing lugs, OR the option to fit aftermarket bolt-on trumpets was always there. The problem with running bolt-on trumpets is that when they are fitted and run they develop a lip and can fluctuate air inside the turret which gives you far less performance. These trumpets are genuine Webber and they are designed for these carbs.

They are indeed sequentially numbered:

40 DCOE 90

40 DCOE 91

As for bike carbs and ITB's, bike carbs are good for for tuning on small engines in my honest opinion, but if had the choice i would choose these over bike carbs anyday. I'm not saying for a selling pitch, but that would be my choice from experience. ITB's as you said are whole different kettle of fish lol

If you have anyother queries, i would be more than happy to answer them.

£350 ovno!

These carbs were only driven on a car for about half a week and then took off for 45's. These are virtually brand new!
