Comments: I bought the car in December 07 after crashing my 1l. My dad drove me to pick the car up from Uxbridge, and i brought the GT back.On the journey home we got separated after about 5 miles, and i got stuck in London for about half an hour, but eventually found my way. In all, the journey home took me 4 hours, however my Dad took 10 hours as he somehow ended up going through Milton Keynes twice...

Future Plans: She is currently sitting in my garage, and will probably stay there for some time. Plans are: un-roll arches so I can fit Coupe S arch trims, replace wheel bearings, n/s driveshaft, pedal box, clutch cable, front dampers (eventually upgrading to Gaz coilies when funds allow), rebuild brakes, fit stub axle spacers, and probably some more things as I go on. Originally i planned to do most of this over this month (sept) but I may as well take my time, and keep her off the road until I have finished work on the G40 engine I have stashed in the corner of my garage............ :unibrow:

When I got her:

VERY nice. Liking how it looks at the minute and you're future plans are pretty much what I was gonna suggest but heres a few more little ideas....

Centre caps (the 56mm not the actual P-Slot flat ones, I just mean the small ones you see on most alloys),

and... badgeless front grille (minus the VW logo) and move the GT badge onto it?

Nice car mate!!

Cheers mate. I was toying with the idea of small centre-caps on the wheels, but I haven't made my mind up yet.

I'm definately gonna get a badgeless grille, but don't know whether or not to put the GT badge on...i guess i'll only know which looks right once i've got the grille on...

nice ! makes me wanna refurb my P's up.

I've got a badgeless grille on my coupe (check my blog) but in all honesty I think the red GT badge is a great touch for the badgeless grilles. As soon as I get a GT engine in my mk3 I will be putting on the arches and GT badges on. I just think the GT badge is a neat touch cause you can pull up and people in front will know that you're cars not all just show without the go...

I think its safe to say you've convinced me! :-D

Oh yes little question, I've got 14" BBS RJ's ordered and want to know while lowered 80mm on your P-Slots does it rub/score? Cheers

Well, to be honest i can't really tell...

the P's are 6" wide, and with full lock, i can fit my hand in between the wheel and arch. I think the inner arch linings have been removed and the arches rolled (by previous owner) with brand new tyres on, they are pretty close to the arches, so i would espect some rubbing, but i honestly cant tell.

I hope that makes some sense, i'm a bit tired at the mo...

No problem, cheers. Just wanted to know as plan on ordering springs and shocks this week, and want an idea how low I can go. Probably just go 60mm and if I want to go lower will use some top caps! Car looks damn good, let us know what (if any changes) you make and that!!

How far have you lowered it?

Well, it was lowered when i got it, and i was told that it was an 80/60 kit with lowering top caps. However i'm now halfway through fitting a HnR cup kit (got the rear done, looks quite :retard:) Pics to follow when complete.

i would keep the merc but then the 911 would have to go. have to choose between them :(

the rims are 15x7's and 15x8's. just need to drop the car big time.

Arr, if they were 14's i'd have sold my soul for them!!

And the porka's pretty schweet too. Is the merc on juice? If not, it should be!!

too right it is on juice and doors on poppers.

That Merc sounds like good fun, bet it gets some looks around the streets!! If it was black I'd safely call it a gangster wagon!

Wiggy your GT is sweet. I want it. :)
