Nice Polo swap for my S1 106 Rallye 16v

Featured Replies

I've gone as far as I want to with my 106 Rallye - I've had my fun now, I fancy a change - I've had it all to bits and sorted everything and spent thousands.

Rough spec is:

1995 Peugeot 106 Rallye

1998 106 GTi/Saxo VTS engine (75K on engine)

Grp N engine mounts and Full stainless exhaust

Recon Rallye short ratio Gearbox, with new seals and selector rods, and Rose jointed Quickshift.

New clutch kit 3 days ago (Old one wasn't worn out but one of the springs fell out!)

Stripped interior with Corbeau Buckets, Sparco harnesses, OMP Rear Roll cage and Sparco Snap-Off steering wheel.

Fibreglass Bonnet

266mm Brakes off 206 GTi

Bilstein dampers all round (Lowered 40mm)

New Citroen C5 Alloys (look like steels, dead light) with New BFgoodrich Tyres

Poly bushed front end

Everything that moves bar the rear axle and steering rack has been replaced with either genuine Pug stuff, or uprated aftermarket stuff - There is plenty more I've done to the car that isn't listed - It's really built for the track but I've driven it to work and back every day for a year, its noisy but not that bad.

The car has 13 months MOT (not a typo, 13 months!) and the tax runs out soon but I'll put 6 months on it.

I've got the standard bonnet and full interior to put back in if required, make it into a bit of a sleeper if you like (they are usually only a 1.3 8v)

Bodywork wise the car is very solid but has seen a bit of carpark dint action (not that bad, dentmaster man quoted me £120 for the whole car) and the drivers door lock has been tried, but the shell is nice and rust free, the MOT man commented how good it was, as well as how good the car was mechanically.

I'm looking to swap it for something VW - Mk4 polo, lupo or similar, nice and low with some little wide wheels on. Ideally not a 1.0 (I'm used to sub 7 seconds to 60 in the rallye so i need a little bit of power)

I've spent a fortune and hundreds of hours of working on this, so I'm now skint and don't have any money, so I'm after a straight swap or even money my way would be nice. I suppose there might be someone in the same situation as me, bored who fancies a change and perhaps something faster. The insurance is surprisingly cheap , I am just 22 and pay £600 with everything declared with Adrian Flux.

The car is in Rotherham, Near Sheffield.

If you are interested drop me an email/PM or whatever.

cheers

Dave
