never knew optimax was so good!

Featured Replies

just been reading this on another forum, i didn't realize optimax could do so much to an MH powered polo. i'm not saying what forum its from cause i don't want to start bitching between forums, but thought this deserved a a mention.

lol my points just been proven exactly happy.gif

theres always someone who doubts you what ever you say,

my "slightly modded 1.3mh" had extra power from a huge battery, 95amp alternator and the carb was tweaked along with the timing, and it was running on optimax with millers octane booster (CVL turbo)

those mods alone will see your polo quite happily pass 100mph.

the wind might have been on my side but i still did it.

oh and heres my 1L 4 speed topping out but i have had it pointing right down.

and when i had the GPS on this, when the needle was on 100 the GPS read 98 biggrin.gif

i unlike most of you keep my foot down not giving a crap about how much it screaming its tits off.

not saying your wimps like but at the end of the day its a 1L which i couldn't care about because you go to a scrapyard and their everywhere. i also have to contacts to sort it out should it, blow up/break.

he also claim this same polo out handle scoobys and lotus Exige, maybe i should just start running my 1.3 on optimax and get a bigger battery instead of getting my gti on the road, would be cheaper on insurance plus it would be faster.

Whats MH Stand for?

its an engine code on mk2 golfs/polos, its just a 1.3 carb engine, same as a a coup s but with less gears i think. nothing spesh tho, the one in my golf didn't get over 80, but that wasn't too healthy, but there not fast and a 4 speed one won't hit 135

i put optimax in my cornflakes 8-)

Off the clocks and petrol nearly in the red.

Says it all for me...!

98mph...I did that today...then I changed out of 3rd and into 4th...95 RON, no octane booster, regular battery and a 2.4 Audi FTW.

got loads of fuel there!! :)

I've had my gt off the clocks like that, must of been close to what would of been 130

wonder what my actual speed was

Lol, indicated 100mph and 98mph on GPS. If he's on stock wheel and tyre sizes I call BS!!

How the hell does a 95A alternator and bigger battery make the car quicker? All you're doing is putting more drag on the crank with a bigger alternator (assuming you're loading it up), and loosing power.

88mph?

I normally fill up before I get to that little marker.

The one thing I never understood is these people who put £5/10 in there car. Your going to just have to keep going back more often than if you just fill it up once and be done with it

i had mine like that as well, but i'm guessing its about 110 in real speed, didn't help that i had 13's with stretched tires, think that makes it read more??

of course, that's where I'm going wrong with my car. What it needs is more electricities.

aah but carrying less fuel about with you means your car is lighter and you use less fuel, or something like that. I just don't like spending more than a tenner at a petrol station unless I'm going far away, it feels like I'm spending money for nothing.

I've had 110 out of my standard MH is do able if you can find a long enough flat bit of road i recon would be easyer with a 421 manifold as you can really fell no power coming through once you get past 5500rpm n mines the 4+E so i can do 100(gps) at bout 4700 i think, lol i might be rong havnt done it for a few months as i havnt found a good private road ;) n i like my licence!
