bump!

would consider a 1 litre

Hi,

I have a 'D' plate Polo C in white which has covered 19,700 miles with all previous tickets available. Owned by 2 older gentlemen in Berkhampstead and now resides in Bedford.

As you can expect, she is pretty pristine inside, however, the outside is a little tarnished where the previous owners have tapped the rear wings and then painted them over with what looks like hammerite!!

Plus:

- very low mileage with cam belt changed 3 years ago at 16k miles

- runs very smoothy and economical - 35+mpg

- I've attached wheel arch spats from a coupe to the front wings

- a year ago, I stripped another mk2 for parts and I have stored another tailgate, both bumpers, all glass, side mirrors, all break hubs (disk/pads/drums/cylinders)which were new when they came off, fog light grill, complete exhaust...plus loads more.

- MOT Oct 2008 / TAX till June 2008

Negative:

- Fuel tank needs replacing, leaks with more then 10lts of fuel (recent leak)

- Paintwork as previously indicated

- Tailgate is rusting badly under the spoiler (hence the spare tailgate)

I was looking to keep the car for a number of years but the wife hates it with a passion!!!

Interested?

could be dude, cheers for the reply, couple of questions...

is it a 1 or a 1.3?

square back?

how much?

peace

p

She's 1.0ltr square back.

I was working it out and including the spares, she owes me rather alot - ballpark is £1,100.

On reflection, I think the only way I'm going to get a return is to hang onto her for a while longer and fit the consumables I've magpied!

Let me know if your still interested ...

I have an E-reg ('88) mk2 ranger.

tis a 1.3, about 45k and since being repaired runs sweet as a biscuit.

Ranger spec gives it square back, alloy wheels and roof bars.

bit of scratched paint on the front, but I have a can of VW original paint to put on that.

not exactly within 50 miles, but a good car that might be worth travelling a little for!

let me know if you're interested!

also, what's T&T?

Any good?

It's a 1.3 5-speed. Tested til the end of March, tax about the same. 60-odd k on it. Proper granny CL spec (brown dash and carpet). Drives very nicely.

I'm over that way a fair bit, so could probably work out a viewing and dropping it off if you're interestted.

It was first registerred on the 4th Nov 1987, so it was 20 years old last year.

I'd say it's got good to very good odds of getting another MOT. I'd happily put it through one if the price was right. I've been running around in it for the last week and thoroughly like it.

It's got bits and peices of tidying need doing, but nothing major that I've found. The only real thing it's got going against it is it has been a Cat C right-off in the past. The previous owner told me it had needed a new door so the insurance had written it off for economical reasons, she bought the car back and had it repaired. It has passed a VIC check and the neccessary paperwork is with it, so there's nothing to worry about on that front.
