Indy's MK5 Finally on Coilovers

Featured Replies

Well, after a long wait I finally got myself some coilovers.

They are FK highsports which I bought from Jules on here (cheers mate). In mint condition.

Also a big thanks to sam and rich for fitting them for me, as I didn't have a clue!

Really loving the coilovers, not really that low, but I will be winding them down further this week as I realised today how much clearance I have over speedbumps, so will be winding them down a lot further.

Just the one picture which I took today off of my phone at my Halls car park.

yep mate, camber definately needs sorting. It looks good in person the way it is, but I don't want my tyres ruining so will be getting that sorted this week :-)

lol, that wheel looks funky, get the camber sorted, looks sweet though, u need some new rims a bit euro.

looking good but u need the camber sorted lol

looking good, good luck with going lower though!

looks good 8-) just needs some better wheels now. It's not the clearance on speedbumps you need to worry about it's the random potholes which are annoying.

Agree with whats been said above, sort out the camber and get a different set of wheels, somthing witha bit of dish and you will be on to a real winner because the colour is fab 8-)

oi you gay wind em' down!!!

Lowered the car a bit more today at the front. Left the backs how they were. Still loads of thread left that I can wind down.

Here are some new pictures I took today off of my phone.

won't be long until the new wheels come mate!

Dude, the front is a fair bit lower then the rear imo... Drop rear another 10mm or so, and stance will be spot on. Then just need wheels. Coilies are stiff enough to allow you to run close to the wheel in terms of height, don't be afraid to wind em lower if need be, at either front or rear.

Keep the nose down stance, but less exaggerated perhaps?

I think I will have to lower the back a bit mate. I've not touched the backs yet, only been messing around with the fronts. I've raised it slightly now because of what i told you last night (rubbin with passengers).

My experience yesterday was that the coilovers werent that stiff, because I was rubbing going in a straight line over minor bumps in the road.

I definately want to go back to the low height I'm at in those pictures, and not the height which we had it on when we fitted them, because thats how its currently sitting.

true that, them wheels do not do the car any justice, i'd rather hav he standard ones back on.

wide 14s with stretched tyres to get sick drop.

I think you should get some widend G60 Steelies and drop it on its arse ! 8-)

like it, looks well....lovin the camber haha...

get pics up as soon as you get the new wheels 8-)

I think they may stiffen up somewhat once theyve settled, though i may be wrong. Jules ran 16's with no more than 10-15mm arch gap, and it didnt scrub. Though I'm not sure on the overall offsets, his tyres were also rather stretched. I dont mean this in a negative way, but you have probably twice as much tyre there as he did! Looks cool though mate, and the new wheels will set it off a treat mate!

Yeah I do have a lot of tyre there haha. I think the only way I will be able to slam it properly is when I get my new wheels and put some stretched rubber on it. I have got quite an average offset of about 35 so that shouldn't be a problem. I don't think I had an arch gap at all in some areas of the wheel, as I couldnt stick my finger between the arch and tyre!

Not keen on the G60 steels. As a winter wheel they are OK, but I wouldn't be able to run them all year round. I'm going for some Ronal LS'
