I'm currently in my first years insurance from mid December and it's with Direct Line fully comp with lowerage and smoothing etc for £527

I'm 34 but not working so they seemed best at the time.

Anyway I want to add my brother inlaw to policy which will cost about £50 (he's paying) but the only way he'll get a years no claims out of it will be if I stay with them for another year.

If I stay with them am I likely to get a good deal? I think I'll have 2 years no claims by that point because they give you a free year as incentive. I'll be a mature student with prob P/T work by then..

It's just I figure with some no claims and job I might get a far better deal at my age.

You say you want to add your brother in law so he can earn NCb? Is that using Direct Lines named driver ncb feature - you'll have to remember that they are usually only valid with Direct Line themselves, therefore tying him into using them in the future if he want to have the ncb.

If you stay with them, don't forget to call round a few places, then ask them if they can price match to keep you

I was origionally with Direct line on my last car ..

My price dropped considrably after the first year ..

Well bollocks to this now :(

My brother inlaw would only of got no claims if he'd been on the policy from the start.

I thought it seemed to good, usual ill informed bullshit from someone probably not understanding my accent.
