This will be short so please read up and don't buy any Lupo unless the following work has been done.

I have owned my Loop for not much more than 2 months. And this is the huge list of work I've done and yet to be done due to a lack of funds. She has covered no more than 55,000 miles (at the time), now 58,000 miles.

This is what I've done so far.

1) Water pump - Failed after 4 days of owenership, engine overheats severely.

Changed under Warranty.

2) Cam belt Kit- Was changed with Water Pump.

Changed under Warranty.

3) Pedal box - Collapsed.

Changed under good will.

4) Clutch Kit - Previous clutch badly worn.

£570

This is what I can't afford to do as of yet because Insurance and Tax are due end of February.

1) Electric sunroof - Refuses to shut level with the roof of the car, leaks rain.

Awaiting quote from Volkswagen stealer's.

2) Central Locking - Drivers side mechanism broken.

£200

3) Exhaust back box - broken baffles, sounds like a lawnmower.

Awaiting quote from Volkswagen stealer's.

4) Gearbox - Not causing me grief but its another common fault (like the car itself) and will go wrong in the near future without a doubt.

Then were down to petty things like a scuff on the front bumper (thank you Somalian Ninja), blown fog lamp etc.

I don't want any sympathy. I done my research before hand, I just wasn't expecting it all at once.

All I ask is that if you ever look towards a Lupo in the near future you take into account EVERYTHING I have mentioned above. Either that or buy Kam's Lupo. Job done.

Remap (+30-35HP), snorted.

And you'll still lock in the fuel economy regardless of the remap.

diesels are fun, my dads gt tdi was loads of fun to drive, only difference is the noise. but id have fast diesel anyday.

fast diesels are cool, fast petrols are evn cooler!

i would love a loopy GTI but I'm 6"4/5 and couldnt be dealing with squeezin myself in!

Common misconception that tall people can't get into Lupos. There huge on the inside.

If you have common sense you can see its a big car. Hell of a lot wider and taller than my old Polo Mk2.

But in terms of length I keep forgetting that I can squeeze into tiny parking spaces.

Modern cars are shit, I wish I had kept the rust bucket now. Took out £1000 instead of £5000 for the Lupo. And spent that 1G doing her up.

As the subtitle says...

My electric sunroof wasn't shutting properly so I took it into the stealer's today for them to assess it on Monday. Now I've just been going through my manual and it says that you can take off the cover and manually adjust it so that it shuts properly.

I'm such a idiot.

Oh but erm...monies, I don't have.

that "rusty crack" ended up being a hole you can get your hand through, thats all sorted now.

i've bought a new old matching GT interior and some black doorcards, fixed the puncture in the OSR tyre, touched up all the paint here there and everywhere, getting the passenger door crease sorted and resprayed soon, looking into a PhilJ 60/40 kit, got the G-lader seite anti-rollbar doobies, ripped out that sodding alarm thing, found your dance music collection pretty good!! and given it a bloody good clean inside and out.

i've probably spent, 100quid on top of the minute cost of the car :-D

about a month till i get insured on it, cannot wait my boy!!

That alarm actually worked you know. Like a knob I unscrewed it and stuck in a screwdriver connecting the two wires on the other side of the key socket, now forgetting to push down the open-bonnet sensor the alarm blasted out. I went deaf for a good 5 minutes and almost banged my head on the bonnet. It was a good old hooter mate, shame I didn't have the key for it.

You just cant beat my dance music collection. Sadly my Lupo has an audio CD player so I'm strapped for choice atm ! Looking into a 6-CD replacement unit for the summer.

You got a bargain. If I decided to keep it longer I would have had the door and the rust fixed last year, changed the sunroof seal and worked on the electrics I.e. new coil, HT leads etc.

Wait until the summer comes along when the carburettor doesn't need to be babyfed with a permanent warm air feed, slap on a bolt-on BK filter and the car is going to sound beasty. It scared the shit out of me at first when I took off that pancake system.

Glad to hear the progress, keep going and get some videos and pictures in when your insured !!!
