Hi everyone,

I replaced my brake pads and discs on my 9n (52 reg) last october, and broke the stoopid little electric connector.

Obviously not the ones for the brake pads, but the connector on the actual car! DUH!

That has now come completely apart, so my dash is telling me my pads are shot, which they arent.. only about 50%.

Problem...

Where does that silly wire lead to?

The wire itself is about £30 from VW, and I would replace it myself but I just dont know where the thing leads to!

It seems to go up towards the wing mirror, then dissapears..

Has anyone ever done this? Would anyone know where this wire leads to? Is is easy to replace?

I can't figure out where it goes to, in the wiring diagrams for the car, or even by trying to identify the wire towards the ECU or the dash or anything...

I face the same problem! Did you succeed fitting the wire?

I just con effed the wires together and it went away.

That was fine for me because I check the brakes regularly.

Go to a breakers yard and chop one off. Then cut the connector off right and the end of the connector (on the car) strip the wires back on both parts and solder them together. Use heat shrink if possible, then secure the wires and con ext it back.

I would have though the wire would lead back to the main harness?

Saying that, Seeing the post above the one above just made me realise I still have a paper clip and some tape on mine... that was to get it though the MOT with the new pads I put on (Bought w/o sensor)

i got pads without a wear sensor as i didn't think had one. i smashed the old pad up removed the sensor and its cable tied to the suspension strut had no problkems yet and although i shoot sparks when i brake its ok as the warning light hasn't come on yet

My mates Fiat was just pin, guessing you earth it and that's it. Not even that, only one side has it.. haha

Most cars only have it one side.
