Featured Replies

hello I'm having trouble gettin insurance on my mk3. the lowest I've got is 2200 and thats third party. If i dont find any soon then it will result in either sellin my car or buying another car as it simply snt worth it as my car was 350 pound!!!!

I'm 17 btw and passed in december so i pretty much need new drivers insurance companys :/

maybe go as a named driver with one of your parents as the main driver or try addng them onto your policy as named drivers. either way should be a lot less than 2.2k

^ what the guy above said, i guess u need to also say if u have private parking, alarms etc might bring the insurance down abit.

Tommy.

If you dont want any of the above, and you want to start earning your own no claims etc, I'm with endsleigh and they seem fair enough, I suppose i live in a fairly far out of a city which helps mine not be too bad, but id recommend them anyway!

I'm with lv and have been since i was 17 with my own policy, first time on my 1 litre mk2 it cost about 800. not too bad compared to what a lot of mates have paid!!!

Its worth trying adding females with good driving history on your policy - it makes a difference it seems (if you have any that is...I don't...). Also, oddly enough sometimes fully comp can work out cheaper depending on your circumstances - don't ask me how, but its worth asking them for quotes on both!

Also who have you tried already? Adrian Flux are good for young drivers...

hey thanks for the advice. i think I'm going with quinn. just over 2000 for third party. endsleigh are slightly more.

I have been doing quotes with my mom as main driver. It must be because of my car as its 1.3 and didnt cost much :p we didnt relise at the time as it wasnt really thought well about :p but i wouldnt be in club polo if i hadnt bought it lol :D

No insurance company will go any lower than 4k for me as main driver.

Have you tried Adrian Flux?

If not i can arrange a call back if you would be interested?

We won't do parent child policies though it would have to be in your name with your mum as an additional driver, but at least you start earning your NCB straight away.

Dan.

BTW, I found that NCB made a massive difference in my second year - first year on my own cost a small fotune, but it halved the first year, and went down another £200 in my third year. I'm aiming to get something similar for my fourth year come April renewal time :)

have u tried www.quotelinedirect.com or www.4youngdrivers.co.uk

i tried both of them when i strarted driving was £1100 tpft on a 106 1.1 in my own name

ah thanks but I'm now with CIS fully comp but I'm a named driver for £2045

£2045 as a named driver. that is steep!!!! I'm a named driver and mine is less than half of that
