I've just had to change my plates today. Got my car back from being resprayed last week and put german plates on it, lasted 2 days then got stopped, they said their was 6 things wrong with them.

Non refelective,wrong font,raised font,no garage name on the bottom, no British standard, and they wont pass an mot.

I just said my mum brought them for me and i didnt know they were illegal...

Gave me a blue slip which meant i had 2 weeks to get normal UK plates put on and checked at a MOT centre, stamped to prove they have been checked then take the bloody slip back to the police station! If they catch you 3 times they can take the plates off you, take you to court probably give you a fine and then you will have to buy some private plates. Thats what they told me, so to be honest its not worth the risk!

Your car probably looks a bit better now...all you need to do is get the standard bumper back on and it'll be mint!

i have pressed "D" plates, and was followed by a cop for two roundabouts and straights today.... then he turned off..... no drama
