You just need to know how to get over them. My coilovers are wound right to the bottom and it very very rarely rubs! Theres a couple of scuffs on the downpipe but thats about it. Daily driver and I have to go over around 20 speed bumps a day.

yeh i hit most speed bumps but its all about the angle you take it at, straight on and your scraping in a low car

Take them one wheel at a time if you can.

Some people on here I remember complaining about speed bumps..then saying they try them at like 10-15mph! I go over them at like 3 mph! And then I'm fine.

I'm down around 70mm on 15's, but I just take them slowly, not rubbed at all yet.

Taking them one wheel at a time if possible doesnt always help, it deppends whats rubbing/hitting. If i get both front wheels over very very slowly I'm usually fine as the back is at 60mm on 13's but if i go one wheel by one more often than not something will get smacked hard underneath, and i suspect the 'box :S.

Just go very slow and very carefull.

well depends whats rubbing, if its your tyres on the arches yes maybe smaller tyres but if its the underneath of your car hitting the bump the 50 profile will be giving you a tiny bit more ground clearance

its the tyres touching the front tyres as there are marks on the outer tyre

I have resontly dropped my mk3 70mm at the front. I look in the inner arch today and it looks like the steering arm has scraped away at the inner arch. Is this normall with this kind of drop?

i got stuck on them ones in middle of road....bastard things, revs and dump the clutch

am down 60/60 on 15s....just the zorst that normally catches (typical mk3) other than the one above.....

devon battered my centre box bad! Speed ramps used to be a bad issue too at 80mm all round!

my old mk4 did on classics with coilies all the way down, aint had any probs in the gti YET tho lol :p

I'd assume so, if it's touching/ close when at a standstill then it's inevitable it will scrape .

Mine only rubs in compressions/dips in the road, never on corners or speed bumps.

Id say I'm down about 70/80 on 195/45/15 and the only thing that catchs ALLLL the time is the cat and the centre silencer.

Can you guess what the next mods to my car are?

Yeh i have a straight through center pipe and that scrapes over bumps. Need to get my mid rubber mount on lol.

Mk3 Polo exhausts are so shit, my old breadvan's mid box used to scrape on speedbumps with 3+ people in it on standard suspension, or 1 person when taken at 40 mph
