6x9's won't be as it's the air movement that will be moving them 6x9's don't do bass anyway

so when i had my system running in my other car , 2 x12s and 6x9s x8 which sounded amazing your telling me i cant or couldnt run them , they were all amped , the subs with a low pa filter and the speakers with a high pass filter .

he has the vibe QB69s which are designed to also produce base, i know what your saying about the air movement of the subs effecting the 6x9s but they are massive 6x9s 200rms 600peak so if the amps big enough they should be alright, maybe box them from below... not sure on the effect but would stop air displacement effecting sound quality surely?

didnt note the vibe ones, they aint to bad on theri own like. but their not like my 6x9s completely diff ball game

right they may sound ace to you but have you tried them in an iasca event or ever heard an sq car ?

6x9's do not play bass they will not like to play below 80hz they don't have the xmax to do it

6x9's are a cheap and nasty way to get volume in a car much better to just get components up front

some of the best sq systems consist of a sub in the rear and a set of components up front

look at the people who are serious about there installs and know there stuff how many of those are running 6x9's ?

The reason i run 6x9's are due to the fact that they are semi cheap and add alot to the sound in terms of, you can hear all the vocals and the mid stuff, plus they have punchy mid range, but i do agree, if u want serious sound, sub and component but which ones?????

what are you running because mine are ok i guess but i haven't found any which i think are that impressive.....link me :)

i run 4 pairs of infinity components in the front doors amped up and taking about 60 rms each but there being switched to starsound in the next couple of weeks :)

it's all the install and setup if you put them in poor places or there not solidly mounted etc they won't sound much good you also need to amp them with nice clean power and set the crossovers up well

ice is 90% install 10% equipment

each to there own 6x9s play loud.

sq installs dont run them cos its a different ball game small sealed boxes with good comps sound realy nice. but for out and out loudness 6x9s rule.

6x9s with subs are fine.

loudness is easy to get with components and they actually sound clear

it's not really each to there own on 6x9's it's people who are not bothered about sound quality or people who don't know anything about car audio you can do so much better for the money and unless you have them fitted up front they ruin the sound stage as most of the sound should be coming from the front like at concerts, cinema, surround sound systems when all the noise is from the back it's sounds pants

make a ported box for the sub and forget the looks the booms more important :p

i agree to both you can still do nice install and make it kick ass. kick ass is way more important than looks
