If you did that, I expect you'd be banned, so why not a policeman? After all, they should be setting a good example to other road users who are expected to follow the rules....

they deserve it, 68 in a 30? just shows some policemen think their above the law.

The idiot deserves it tbh if he thinks he can get away with driving at 90mph in a 60 zone, it's good that they made an example out of him, some coppers think just because they're imployed within the law that they're above it

The guy who did 90 in a 60 is a completely different person...

...90mph isn't particularly fast in a "60mph zone" as it's a national speed limit...traffic police could regularly reach such speeds when responding to an emergency...or even higher speeds...but then they are trained to drive safely and manage risk, the public aren't.

Whilst I did laugh at the up it isn't acceptable for a police driver to do that, so he deserved a slap on the wrists. He's only driving a panda car so he's not exactly the pinacle of driving ability either. Not sure it was a good idea making it so public as it tarnishes the reputation of the entire force with one persons bad behaviour.

If the police speed through a camera they get a ticket like everyone else, the difference being if they are attending an emergency they won't get fined.

that does seem harsh. i'm all for old bill being punished when they fuck up, but come on he was only sticking his thumb up. if keeping both hands on the steering wheel at all times was so important all cars would be automatic.

he did deserver a slap on the wrist but what he got was a bit harsh considering if he was a high ranking officer he could probably get way with a lot less if he had done a lot more wrong.

no sympathy off me the stupid idiot. GOOD i say!!!! so he should be done for that, if that was a member of the public not just speeding but with BOTH hands off the wheel then they would be banned without question, even if they were on a 999 call still he shouldn't have been taking the piss, 40mph roads have that limit for a reason so 68-73mph still requires some form of concentration.

Wasn't debating the fact about the thumbs up, just the fact people are slating him for speeding and why he shouldn't get away with it just because he's a police officer...

..but the thumbs up- no need but lets face it, it's not a big deal. I know he shouldn't of done it BUT he wouldn't of done it if he knew for a fact it would put other people in danger like if there was loads of traffic to maneuver past. Worse misconduct probaly does happen, this really isn't a big deal.
