has anyone used that chrome tape/strip you can buy on any of your cars? and do you think it'd look a bit tacky?

what are your opinions?

i was thinking to have some strip running along the top of my sill from arch to arch. and possibly some others places i cant think of at the moment. but becasue i haven't seen the stuff before i just wondered if you guys have used it or seen it.

I usde it in the bumper gap of my mk3 and around the windows to give it that 'retro' feel. Can look good, but application of it in a bad place can result in a tacky look. Like Pandas grille :lol:

haha, cheers for that, the only subtle/decent place ican think of is along the sill, i was thinking along the bottom of my boot lid as ther is a lip that folds in. but I'm not sure.

Yeah can look good as long as you dont go OTT with it :-D

I've got a 15m role of it i was going to use it on my golf

i used it to make a chrome surround on the grille on my jetta. there's been a couple pics of it on here in other threads... cant find any now as i'm at college (can not see any photo's). A lot of people thought it looked spot on, and many even asked me where i'd got the 3 slat chrome surround grille from! (there was never one made, hence why i did my own)

cool, i think i might jsut go ahead and buy some when i get to that stage.

I'm after some pinstriping tape, cant find a shop in the UK that sells it though.. they all seem to be yanks, I'm after 1/4" in bright orange.. 3m make some, anyone else know where i can buy some?
