respray roof, bumpers and arches Black and the body in Candy Blue ( the darker blue)

Leather retrim, cage, short shifter, and possabley an Audi TT dashboard.

Looks like a decent little car.

Only thing you can really do if you wanna keep the arches is chop the stubby bits off and plastic weld the holes up.

LOL, brilliant.

when you fit these performance cams id love to see how you manage it.

;) DON'T GIVE OUT DUFF ADVICE. IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE ANSWER THEN DON'T ANSWER - SIMPLE!!! ;)

^^ tongue in cheek lol. You can get them plastic welded and smoothed, to hide the welding marks like Yoofs GT (in the mk3 section of photo gallery). Alternatively, you can remove the arch trims that are on and use mk2 coupe S items, stuck on with Tigerseal or sikaflex etc. Finally, it has been said that you can somehow cut up rear arch trims to fit on the front.

[smartass mode] So plastic welding ISNT the only thing you can do. [/smartass mode]

I was only jesting will you be REALLY using a 3F engine though?

I'm soooooo looking forward to you putting the audi dash in. coz then there will be 2 of us who wasted hours of out life wanking around with the wiring loom from hell.

kizza have you got the dash wired up now then?

as for turboing it, will you be doing it all properly or just pikeying it? if your doing it the proper way it would be simpler and much more cost effective to buy aG40 conversion and turboing that if you can find one for sale. or you could just do it the pikey way and fit a couple of extra head gaskets to it, weld together a few off cuts of exhursts to make a manifold, then maybe use the carb set up from some thing like a R5 GTT/MG Metro turbo? (not sure if this would work, maybe some one else could shed some light on that?)

good luck with it all any way mate 8-)

I have a G40 engine for sale but its not cheap!!!

Iv been looking into fitting a turbo on the GT but its not worth it realy.

I'm going to fit direct to head throttle bodys which set up correctly could give me just as many gains.

Don't think so, forced induction > n/a most of the time. I saw a 150+bhp n/a mk1 in PVW once I think but that was a full race spec engine, with thousands of euros spent.

looks like medium blue to me, though it appears to have steel blue drivers side door and wing

still looks like a good base for a project and i guess the colour doesnt really matter seing as its gonna be resprayed! best of luck with it

your not joking are you! i paid less than that for a complete g40, fair enough it doesnt have a separate oil cooler for the charger which i know wasnt cheap when pitstop were selling them.
