I'm no longer going down the turbo route. I am however interested to know if a 16V head will fit on the 3F block? dose any body know if this is possible? its only an idea I'm toying with at the moment if somebody could point me in the right direction that would be great

I'm also looking for a big break kit for it is there any made for the mk3 GT?

Thanks ;)

why not go the whole hog and fit the 1.4 or 1.6 16v engine, it'll go in and probably be less hassle than trying to put a 16v head on the 3f. plus you could sell the 3f engine and put the money towards the 16v.

it does require some mods to fit (engine mount related) but it would be well worth it.

theres loads of options for bigger brakes: vauxhall calipers, g40 brakes, mk1 golf gti etc do some searching theres been loads of posts about mk3 brakes and upgrades.

the vid was good by the way! looks like your not doing a grand job! what are the wheels you've got in the vid?

They are 15'' Zender alloys with a 2.5'' dish and they are dimond cut. they were made in 1981 :-D very rare apparently :-)

You should be able to fit 280mm brakes behind 15s.

Looks like a decent little car.

Only thing you can really do if you wanna keep the arches is chop the stubby bits off and plastic weld the holes up.

;) DON'T GIVE OUT DUFF ADVICE. IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE ANSWER THEN DON'T ANSWER - SIMPLE!!! ;)

^^ tongue in cheek lol. You can get them plastic welded and smoothed, to hide the welding marks like Yoofs GT (in the mk3 section of photo gallery). Alternatively, you can remove the arch trims that are on and use mk2 coupe S items, stuck on with Tigerseal or sikaflex etc. Finally, it has been said that you can somehow cut up rear arch trims to fit on the front.

[smartass mode] So plastic welding ISNT the only thing you can do. [/smartass mode]

I fitted mk2 arch trims but they don't fit as well as mk3 ones. Look okay though.

Yeah it looks promising in that video, white ftw

Dont see many of those Zenders around here but they are on german ebay all the time for cheap by people who will send them to the UK.

I hope you like the boot, there has been alot of work done into that, it has all been cut and welded so there is as little filler as possible. :-)

The roof gutters have been cut off and the seams welded up and smoothed, it makes the car look more modern and unique 8-)

You would be correct, if you know lincoln well it is on top of the bus station.

Engine work done to it is Air filter, exhaust system, Fuel boost regulator, kent cams and port and polished head. :-D

Iv been looking into fitting a turbo on the GT but its not worth it realy.

I'm going to fit direct to head throttle bodys which set up correctly could give me just as many gains.

Don't think so, forced induction > n/a most of the time. I saw a 150+bhp n/a mk1 in PVW once I think but that was a full race spec engine, with thousands of euros spent.

is that the gold one if so that is a machine its 170bhp on bike carbs and its not even a 3f engineand he did the work himself to keep the costs down to i was guna do somthing like that but now am going for a g40 bottom end with gt head inlet manifold and a kkko3 turbo off ma mates 450bhp mk5 golf as he has just put a scooby tubo on it to release more power. gaz
