I wonder if anyone has ever raced a copper?????

Was going down the V6 ( Milton keynes Grid roads) and i just came off a roundabout and i could see the lights of a car just behind me on the right. My wingmirro is fucked so couldnt see throught it and he was to close for my rear view, and i thought this guys iver trying to over take me in a robin reliant as i was going about 40mph, or its somone trying to race me, so i carryed on at same speed, then the car came level i toa quick look to my left to see two coppers sitting in an unmarked corsa. This was sunday night aswell and thats the night in MK for the cruises and stuff so was probably trying to get me to race and do me. Ha stupid po po.

A mate of mine raced a police car away from the lights... full acceleration up to 50mph (limit) where they sat until the next set of lights when they did it again. Excessive acceleration isnt yet an offence :p

They don't have to actually have you on camera to stop you for speeding though. I know someone who got stopped and given 3 points and a £60 fine for speeding 6mph over the limit and it stuck! Not worth the risk to keep up with them imho :-p

This is true i had that judgement against me for my 1st speeding ticket ..

Basically i overtook someone on the way into a nat speedlimit countryside lane ..

I diddnt see the copper coming the oppisite direction over the brow of a hill ..

He span around and chassed me ..

Coppers words " I have been driving at over 90Mph for the past 2 miles to catch up with you .

Therfore i am charging you for speeding .

Me being very young at the time apologised and said i was in a rush instead of asking for video evidence .

3 Points on my licence and a fixed penalty and they sent me on my way .

But they could still get him for dangerous driving if they wanted to be picky?

I agree that 80mph in 30mph zone is fun

8-)

Not saying it is the case, but they could have been responding to a semi-urgent call, ie one that doesn't warrant putting your tow all the way down and turning on the flashy stuff, but which they could do with getting to sooner rather than later nonetheless.

The semi urgent call that their butties are nearly ready at the cafe?

Called a "prompt" call I think, and I THINK it's up to the police driver to whether they take the risk to do blues and two's or speed or whatever, basically I think they can do what they see fit and safe, in this case he could of been on a prompt call and saw it fit to 40 in a 30?

Of course he could be just plainly speeding for the hell of it...

i saw a police galaxy doing at least 70/80 in a 30 in the pissing wet through the main road of the village i live in one night. no lights on or nothing

i was blagged, sounded pretty meaty too lol

A couple of weeks ago i was driving up my raod in the new Astra hire car we were given and a car cam flying over the bridge at about 50 (in a 30, blind bridge - see "Victims of snow" topic...) and didn't pull in to see if the road was clear, (which drivers should do as cars park on one side of the road) and so came flying at me so i just thought "sod it, you're in the wrong, you can bloody well move!" Then on came the blue lights and i was like "Oh, so you're using your authority to get yourself of this situation because you are a prick...!!", so i had to bump up the kerb, then suddenly another car did the same thing, then on came the blue lights and i was like "eh..."

Then i carried on over the bridge, and turned down the first road on the right to park (as there was nowhere to park on my road), got out of the car and was walking towards my house when a third cop car approached the bridge at silly speed, but this one put the blueys on just before hitting the bridge...

I think the Police drivers where i live are the worst!! They seriously either speed all over the place or crawl along at 10mph, tailgate everyone at night to make you speed up, they never indicate, always give you evils because you're driving a car thats not 100% standard, always park with their headlights on at night....i could go on, but i'll probably go nuts...

Rant over.

I think excessive acceleration is actually punishable, but in order to get nicked for it you first need to actually be capable of excessive acceleration.

^^^^^

i saw on 'police camera action' this morning, cops were pulling lads for rapid accleration stuff like that. they got warnings and there reg and names taken, and if they got caught again there cars were taken
