got pulled for my plates lol

Featured Replies

had my rear california plate on for about a week and got pulled by a fat idiot with nothing better to do on the motorway

said they're having a nationwide crackdown. i got warned by mk3rob so I've only got myself to blame. thought id pass on the message. they can also change your reg number if you buy a plate to try and alter them to read a different word, although i recognized it was pointless thing to do for me as my reg doesnt mean much.

i could of spent that £30 in such a more fun way aswell :(

anybody wanna buy a gt afm £25?? haa

Well technically it will never be over. They're just being extra vigilant atm..

I'd rather a fine over points any day

WTF?

His job is to stop people doing things that are illegal.

Its illegal to run an American plate and you were running one. Course hes going to pull you.

If he didn't pull you, he'd not be doing his job.

As I've said before standard plates FTW!

I like using other plates at shows and stuff but I don't see the point for day to day driving. Its not as if UK plates are ugly. I really like my pressed UK ones!

 I suppose I'm biased being on here so I don't mind german plates but otherwise anything other than standard uk font and plate looks ridiculous to me. All these fancy italics and fancy font ones just look utter wank. Even the non-rectangular ones on certain cars (like rover 75 I think?) look terrible to me, and they might even be factory fit.

If you mean the ones that are rounded at the bottom and straight at the top of the plate then yeah they are factory fitted. Gashh

Thats the ones i like to go for but even still the Scottish coppers didn't like them.

There was one night myself and Stubert were out with Uk pressed plates on and the police were in about them and weren't a fan.

Just gone with some clean plastic ones now with only the British Standard markings on them, keeps them off my back so I'm happy enough.

Yeah the ones that fill the whole of the num plate recess. Saw one yesterday that was all creased or delaminated or whatever too which didn't help things - looked terrible.

And don't get me started on the logos where the country band thing should go - how many fat ugly girls have the playboy bunny on theirs

Haha ^ It's funny cause its so true. Usually on black clios round by me tbh..with pink shit in the interior

Must be right picky up your way like!

I've not had any bother for mine.

*touch wood*

Yeah its was over the summer really, we would have our local meets and the coppers would come over and were like illegal, illegal, wrong spacing, wrong font etc haha.

In all fairness to them, in accordance to the dvla they weren't legal, but as many others have said they were at least legible unlike shitty carbon fonts and playboy banding and all that bollocks.

I also got pulled over by the traffic in July-ish and the traffic officer stood behind my car and read out my plate to his colleague, perfectly visible and reflective. No problems from them.

But at the end of the day with threatenings of losing my number plate and continued fines i just opted for the plastic ones.. Was sick of the hassle really.
