Nothing to do with actual driving but:

My dads a trader and we was putting a BRAND NEW Audi A3 on the recovery truck, and the towing eye just snapped, the car rolled down the yard into a metal fence, luckily it only cracked the back light and pushed the bumper in and a tiny dent on the boot lid, could of been much worse.

Wheel fell off as i didnt do the bolts up properly :(

Luckily driving at about 2MPH!!!

I've had a wheel fall off in manchester (50miles away) from not tightening bolts properly, luckily i was turning round so was only rolling, glad it wasnt on the motorway on the way there :/.

And the other day i left my spare keys in my boot lock and drove around for a couple of hours without realising.

I once got the two buses home from work, seven miles, during a time of not having a car. But i'd driven to work in a new one.. Also, spent three hours walking around the city centre trying to find a car. Id parked it up on a hangover a few hours earlier, not a clue where id parked it. Worst was my dinner burning whilst working on a car. Didnt just loose the dinner - lost the whole kitchen. :retard:

Haha this thread is so funny.

I am known to have my stupid moments so there are many but I'll only mention a few.....

Riding my motorbike home after work late one night wondered why I couldn't see a lot and people were flashing me, get half way home (2.5 miles) and realised I had no lights on

Went to fill my Nova up with petrol, put a full tank in drove half way home and it just died. Phoned my dad and got him to tow me home, we spent all of the next day trying to figure out what was wrong with the car removing and refitting bits, replacing with new bits etc, he asked me several times "are you sure you didn't put diesel in it?" I reply "no of course I didn't, I'm not fucking stupid you know" until at about 5 o'clock I check the fuel receipt and sure enough I'd filled it up with diesel. 15 mins and a full tank of PETROL later and all was fine. 8-)

Sat in the bath the other day, squirted shampoo on my hands and proceeded to wash my face with it :lol:

I think the all time classic one though has to be when I was helping currie and cam strip curries car, engine is up on a jack and they are wrestling with the complete front axle to get it out of the way. In my wisdom I think (for some fucking unknown stupid reason), "that jack handles in the way, I'll move it", start letting the jack down and the engine nearly falls on currie DOH!!!!!!! To this day I REALLY don't have a clue why the fuck I thought it was a good idea :?

That last one ^

done lots of silly things but the worst has to be leaving the chuck key in the lathe when i was making a new gearknob, that was a bit scary

my boot is on a solenoid pop and i popped it to put something in the back. decided against it and put it in the front

drove off with the tailgate threatening to fly open!

wont be doing that again

also keep forgetting to put the coolant cap back on!

you certainly don't do it again in a hurry! when i used to work for rover, one of the other apprentices forgot to tighten up a tool on a milling machine, that fell off and blew a hole through the wall

I've done that with the lathe,Jon - spun it up with one of your old Castilettes on and the thing went flying past my left arm.. Smoooth.
