Hey, did you know that a wall can go 58mph?

Featured Replies

Was just browsing on the net, found this very informative documentary. A speed gun takes a reading of a wall that is standing still at 58mph.

Watch the video:

good find mate, was an interesting watch

that video footage of the speed camera reading cars as driving away from it was shocking, surely if the operator was at fault he would of noticed it and sorted it, besides not all of them were registering as going away so couldn't of been set up wrong?

Nice link... really angers me just thinking how many people, old people etc who may have paid money in the past as they may not just question the law enforcers.

Think of your grannies!

Still. Always going to ask what speed gun was used if i ever get done!

great watch, very interesting :)

Very interesting. They shouldn't be alowed to use such innacurate tools.

in 2000, i was driving 3 workmates home after work, on a 30 road, and was demonstrating a flatspot my car had, i droppped to 20 round a bend then put my foot down, the flatspot kicked in, i got to 28mph, there was a cop with a handheld camera facin me and pulled me in.he told me i was doing 44mph in a thirty, back then, you couldnt challenge them as it was new technology(as far as i was aware,) so i took the points and £60 fine.stayed on my licence for 5 years them bastard points did.

makes you think doesnt it?

theyve had same sorta readings on motorcyles ( MCN reader :D)

you need a flat spot and have to be very steady to get an actuate reading weres there a flat spot on a motorbike....

walls are exacly the smoothest material so prob creates a bad reading... cars are moving away from box on wheels so also have the same probs as bikes now...

Just another way for them to line there pockets with our hard earned.

So that's why they don't liuke D Plates 'the camera ideally is aimed at the number plate because of the special reflective covering' They often site the fact that d plates aren't reflective as the reason they're illegal

the fact that the old guy in the film refused to say that the guns need revising was really annoying, and yet the home office won't revise them. grr

its scary how easliy you could be caught speeding when you are actually not. i passed a camera in a van at 30mph exactly today, and that video show it could have read me as doing -30mph or 0mph or whatever it feels like. I'm sure they're not all that bad, but its still a bit annoying how theres nothing you can do

in my opinion i don't think that they should be allowed. they are more of a hazard as people see them, immediately slam on the brakes to avoid the 3 points causing danger to other users. not fair at all.

coming down the m50 few weeks ago. 2mi before u get into wales border as i was heading home. just as i pass a 50mph sign, there was a van immediately round the corner waiting. luckily i was doing 40mph to allow for the slip - gives me a bit of insurance. 1mi later another guy setting up these ones on tripods - distracting just looking at them.

AVOID THAT ROAD- they are always there. dont like people avoiding severn bridge rofl - sad bastards

no its cus your car isnt registered in germany lol mine are reflective

Excellent find!

Saved this into my favourites for possible future use in court...You never know!

Someone needs to make a car like the stealth planes and boats . No posability of the signal bouncing back ..

Would only work for speed guns though .. not cameras ..

if you managed to get your car with absorbing stuff, would fool speed cameras too cos they use infra red to tell distances at 2 points as you past them and calculate speed same way. but they aren't operated with someone who has parkinsons tho.

Yeah lads that's a great idea, lets all drive about in stealth bombers
