195/60/R15? I don't get it LoL.

I get the R15 - Radial R15 but its the other two that confuse me.

Here are two piccys ..

195/45/15's

165/50/15's

195 is how wide the tyre is and 60 is the size of the side wall, pics above show a normal tyre and one with a slight stretch

195's with the smaller 45 side wall looks like the winner to me.

I originally planned to give these away to a mate for his polo mk3 but do you think they would look any good on my Loop?
