my names pete and i'm new 2 the site.

i'm picking up my Polo Match 1.4 on saturday,went 2 have a look at it earlier 2day and loved it. its a 51 reg with FSH 58k and all for only £2800 from a dealers near 2 mine.

now i want to get about modding as soon as possible, maybe 'euro style' but maybe just the standard 'sleeper' look.

I've had a few quotes on exhaust/manifold systems, with panel filter blue fin and a re-map but the fella i e-mailed only gave me a breif outcome of what extra bhp i was lookin at. he said with all the above mods i would be looking at the region of 15-20 hp on top of my 60 and an increase in torque. now i know i will also have 2 upgrade the brakes and maybe the gearbox if i want the added top speed, but tbh it doesnt bother me with top speed as i dont drive fast anyway.

what can u guys recommend 4 me in your own opinions?

do u think 'euro' is the way 2 go, or keep it lookin as a sleeper?

Personally I wouldn't bother spending that amount of money for a few more bhp - exhaust and remap are gonna be the best part of a grand, no? Up to you of course.

I don't think the sleeper term could ever be applied to a 1.4 n/a Polo so in my opinion you'd be best to drop it low and get it looking good!

thanks mate, the guy who quoted me these prices is a good fella, coz i previously owned an mk5 fez ZS and got all my performance parts thru him, he told me it should come 2 around £700 fully fitted with lifetime gaurantee, but evey1s opinion is to there own.

as 4 slammin it on coillies, what do u recommend? a full 70/80 split or maybe ride it a bit higher? would ther arches have 2 b rolled to fit a set of 14" borbets under there with strecthed tyres?

14x7 or 14x8s with 195/45s should be good enough for you to go down 100mm ish.
