Citroen customer service

Featured Replies

I know this is a Polo site but I just have to rant!

My Saxo broke down on sunday and I believe it to be due to the fuel pump relay.

Anyway I go into a citroen main dealer today as the have a pretty big parts department and I thought being a main dealer they will have the part I'm after. This is how the conversation went.

Me: "Hi can I get a fuel pump relay for a 98 Saxo VTR please?"

Spotty teen: "Err whats that?"

Me: "Its a relay under the ECU that controls the fuel pump"

Spotty teen: "OK I'll get Bill he knows what he is doing"

Bill: "You want a fuel pump relay?"

Me "Yes please mate"

Bill: "Never heard of that before, what is it?"

Me: "Its a relay under the ECU that controls the fuel pump"

Bill: "What does it look like?"

Me: "Well its just a little black plastic box"

Bill: "No one has ever asked for that before so I don't know what it is"

So a Shitroen main dealer employs in their parts department 2 folk who have no idea about parts?

The first boy the spotty teen didn't even know how to work the computer!

I'll go as far to say they are worse than Halfrauds!

So if you own a Citroen not only are the cars a pile of shite the customer service is too. Oh how I regret buying another VTR!

Remember, Ross told you the best thing to do with it was to scrap it!

Give me a day mate and I'll try and get hold of one for you. I take it you are going to try the ECU before trying the pump? I could pop round after work tomorrow if you are around if there's anything I can do?

Have you tried bridging the pump to make sure it's not the pump that's gone?

Also, is there a safety cut out switch for the fuel pump on Saxos? I know my grans Xantia had one and it caused no end of trouble.

That's worse than the Ford Parts bloke I tried to get a set of spark plugs out of for my old escort. First he gave me 3 plugs, then he gave me one that was totally different. When I asked him if it was the right one, he said it was, then he looked at me like "Where did you get those from?" when I showed him the other 3 he'd just given me. Then he said they hadn't got any more of those.

If a mechanic hadn't walked in and put him right, I'd probably still be there now.

The VW Parts guy near me thought the rocker cover gasket was the head gasket.

ages ago when i had ma first car, i had an AX got cum break pads from some shop ma sista gets her parts from, went to ma main dealers and askd id they could up em on 4 me. the guy said they wouldnt do it cos its not olriginal part, i though fair enough but then quoted me £78 labor to put em on?!!!?! wtf? lol

Don't scrap it, torch it!

Here we go again, slagging off Citroens, if you don't like 'em why did you buy it? :retard:

Of course it couldn't happen when you own a VW and go to a VW dealer - they MUST be fantastic cause they're VW afterall.

The local VW dealer to me is absolutely useless. I went in to buy a set of floor mats for my mk2 - you'd have thought I was trying to buy something rare and special. After 10 minutes of searching his computor he finally told me "you can't get 'em anymore mate". So knowing the floorpans were the same I said "what about ones for the mk3 1990-94 models"? "Errm, I'll see if I can find any". More searching his computor and me standing there like a spare prick at a wedding. "Ah yes we can still get them, but we'd probably have to order them" he says after what seems an age. FFS, I'm only trying to buy a set of fuckin' floor mats!

I go to leave and notice a rack on the showroom floor with floor mats hanging in bags on it. I wander over and guess what? Yep, a set of black carpet floor mats for a mk3 1990-94 Polo. I take them back to the bloke at the desk and he says "do I want a refund"? I nearly fell over! A fucking refund!! Fucking idiot! "I'm trying to buy them and you've just spent the last 20 minutes looking on your computor for 'em". Oh yeah, thats right he said sheepishly. How fucking stupid did he feel? I've never been back there for obvious reasons.

Moral of this story is, there are thick idiots everywhere, they don't only work for Citroen - or VW for that matter.

Should have stuck with VW.. our local parts guys were mint every time we were in. Knew what they were talking about and gave us discount when they could.

Sadly a change of circumstances down at the trade depot meant we could no longer just go to the warehouse as we were public sales. Although the guy at the showroom knows his stuff so its not too bad!

I'd have said yes, taken the money then got a mate to go back in 20 minutes later and buy them. 1 set of mats for fuck all :)
