My passenger side electric window has broken, it won't go down any more. When I press the switch there is the faintest change in engine idle, as if something is taking a load, but no activity inside the door. What's it likely to be? How can I test it?

Fixed it.... opened driver window for airflow purposes, held down the button for the passenger door, slammed it closed, bingo, working window again.

LMFAO! must of been a dodgy connection or it had come off its runner and you nocked it back on :)

It's apparently a common problem on the 6n Polo as a friend of mine had the same issue...if it happens just start moving the switch about and give the door a whack just above the original speaker area...helpful tip from an Auto Electrician

Neither of the electric windows work in my car atm! I'm sure my problem is worse than this tho.

ye mine went funny once at a hospital, opened the window (in the rain i must add) to put the ticket in the barrier thing to get out and the window wouldnt shut afterwards! drove home in the rain...
