this is a daft question, haven't got a clue what tyres to go for. need ones that will fit on a 6 inch wide wheels without stretch? 195's or 185's

195s probably. What size are the wheels, because this will affect the profile of tyre you need, and generally you will need a wider tyre if it's lower profile - for example, a 195/60 could happily be fitted to a 5-6J rim, but a 195/45 should be fitted to a 6-7J rim. 8J at a push.

If they are 14s, get some 185/55s on them, if they are 15s, 195/45.

mine are 14's wanting quite a low profile, i have got 185 55's falkens on but the front wheels but they looked ballooned compared to the 195/45's on my 8 inch rears

i have 6.5 inch wide wheels with 195/50/15 tyres with no stretch what so ever. So perhaps 185's for yours?

If you want them to match your 195/45 rears then maybe 165/55s would be the way to go

THIS IS THEM NEXT TO MY OLD 185,60,14 TYRE!

Or you could run a 185,50,14, OR a 165,55,14 - wich will give slightly less "stretch" than mine
