Help Me Please!

Featured Replies

My airbag light has appeared on my dash. I've taken it to the garage to get it sorted and they've tracked it down to the "ring" that connects the airbag to the electrical system. I think it may even deploy the airbag.

Here are the part details:

Part Number: 1H0 959 653 E

Description: Ring

Now, unfortunately the part is sat next to me on the table instead of in the car. This is because the garage I took the car to cant get the airbag off of the car to fit the part. Apparently you need a special tool to remove it, which is only the dealership have. I really can't afford taking it there at the moment.

Has anyone had this problem before? It’s meant to be common.

I really need to check my Haynes manual to see what they suggest...

HELP! Please.

Thank you, I would really appreciate that.

I've found this:

airbagtool.jpg

Klann 0242-10 Airbag Removal Tool Set. Suitable for driver's air bag housing. For use on VW Golf IV, Lupo, Passat (b5) 97 and up. Polo 99 and up.

From here:

Does my 6N2 count as a "Polo 99 and up"?

Have sent an email to the website. They don't know if it fits the 6N2. If its 99 and up surely it would cover my 2000?

It will actually cost £23.

I think I'll just order the part...

  • 4 weeks later...

I ended up buying the tool for the garage to do the job, and then they told me that they were too scared to do it. Took it to VW, £115 later my part is fitted and the problem is solved.

The tool is for sale. PM me.
