The tooling the shells are made from was originally used to make a similar kit based on.... wait for it,

wait for it.....

The Austin Maestro! Suitable or what :p

I like the fact a few kits are emerging that use the Impreza floorpan and drivetrain.

Sort the noise out (equal length exhaust manifolds you say Adam?) and seeing as you've sacked the ugly bodyshell off the car I don't see a problem with them anymore

Hat off to that man, done a cracking job as he's taking away all the rs200's bad points and still kept the pornographic looks of one :thumbsup::thumbsup:

It does look OK and is a credit to the builder, but up until recently 3 friends owned 5 of the real thing between them so I can't get too excited by it.

Wow you're like cool....like iceeeee.

Just buy a Subaru?

Or a real RS200?

i think it looks nice.

wtf yeha?!????????????????????\

3 of you are mates owned 5 original rs200's?!!!!!!!!!!!???????????

how fuckin rich are they???? i've only ever seen one real one and one replica.... the real one made a that da a very special one!!!

That is the best thing I've ever seen on the internet to do with kit cars.

Your mixing with the right people, they owned 5 out of 200 cars produced world wide they must be worth circa half a million if they are were nice examples especially if they are the E2 variant.

as much as i like scoobys i could never own one of them kit cars, because i love RS200's too much.

the last time i checked RS200's were going for 50k, that was only a year ago (maybe a little more), i was pricing them up ready for my lottery win

You'd be amazed how cheap the RS200 can be. Of the 5, only 1 was bought in anything like 1 piece, and that was one of 3 that went to California and failed to get off the docks due to failing the emissions requirements. It was used to keep the other 2 on the road, in another state of course. My mate bought it very cheap, but had to pay VAT on the original purchase price when it was reimported and add the missing parts. The other 4 were built from bare tubs. 3 were owned by one guy. He'd wanted one for years and found the tubs in various places and bought parts as soon as they appeared. At the time all these were bought/built, it was more expensive to get a 6R4. This is an article on one of the cars.

The prices seem to vary a lot, http://www.rs200.org last time I looked they were mega bucks, still cant afford one.

i like that, very good idea using a Scooby for the running gear

i think the old replica's used Sierra XR4x4 or Cossie running gear......these sort of bits are getting rare/expencive now & there's a few prob's with mounting the engine in the back

i'm sure i've also seen one running a Maestro Turbo motor & another one with a Escort RS turbo motor.....both RWD

the Boxer engine on the Scooby one look to fit well in the front......i would'nt like working on it thought, i does'nt look like theres much room

....

only thing that would worry me a little is that Scooby's are a little prone to understeer & a RS200 has a pretty short wheelbase

to fast into corner.......understeer........back of throttle........rear end goes light, lose's grip........front end grips..........car spin's........ello field

....

Clarkson in a proper RS200
