Featured Replies

basicly my off side shock has gone on me mk2 polo, and it is totally foobared!! but along with that i have finaly given in to my car being lowered 120mm!!! so I'm gonna get new suspention come payday and was thinking of getting a 70mm drop!!

i do love my car dropped as low as it is but its restricting me from going alotta places +dont get me started on SPEED BUMPS!!! i dont think i got any floor left lol which reminds me . . i need to reseal that!!! but anyway i dont wanna get 40mm drop cos i think it wont look as good with my 13" ats classics but will 70mm give atleast a decent clearence from those damb speed bumps??

anouther thing is was thinking of keeping the springs so if i can, put them on for shows/meets if i go one, can that be done or is it advised not too?!?!

cheers any help peeps!!

There is a pic on my car in the 2006 show 2nd page 4th in along the top DSCF5380.JPG!!

Its soo low i scrap it every where, going on to my drive in to my workshop and my dad laughed at me when i told him i scrapped going on to his drive!!!

Just yesterday i was treated with a surprise coming home from work that they dug up the road just round the corner from my house so left ia nice drop for me to ground on lol!!! i think looks cool dropped as it is but i think rasing it to 70mm drop give me just that lil more clearence i need lol!!!

"rasing it to 70mm drop give me just that lil more clearence i need lol!!! "

A lil extra clearence, thats 50mm!

no way are you down 120mm. I was down 100mm and my car was sitting on the floor.

To get it that low I had removed everything from the interior, take off the back box and centre box, cut out the arch lip and cut out chunks off the inner arch for the steering arm

I couldn't not even fit my foot under the sill. 20mm lower and the car would have to be touching the floor

tbh if you are running 13"s and u "say" you are down 120mm you are car would'nt even move lol

she's now MINE!!! :-D

120mm was what the guy i bought it off said so i guess was 110 then!!

she not bad the wings are in need of repair got 2 new front ones ready to go on with transported vent!! the n/s/r has a large crack with a little rust round the petrol cap!! and the o/s/r rear wheel had a big scruff on it when i bought it back in october last year!! other wise she sweet little motor and love it!!

did 'ZOMBIE86c' build this car??

i got pics but =at home so i will put some up later!!

this was were i first saw this car http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=50795 n then saw it for sale again on piston heads!!! had to snap it up fast lol!!!

when its say lowers 120mm it probly actually only goes down 60-80mm

  • Author

ok looks like i was wrong only dropped by 80 so i think i going for a 40mm drop!!

40mm doesn't really look lowered. 60mm is a good compromise.

hmm 60 is tempting but hope it could cope with the awful roads round my way!!

I recall one insident lil while back i was going toward croydon where i live and at the last minute i saw that a drain was wierdly positioned in the road and there was a very, very load bang thinking i hit my sump i relise i hit a part of floor where it sticks down by the exhaust!! + i not going for adjustables because atm it been set up stupidly hard which doesnt seem help the handling +come to a bumpy road and I'm all over the place!!!

so is 60 rele gonna give me that bt more? cos i hope it will!!

May have a 70mm kit up for sale soon (front and rear springs and rear shocks). I've found it perfect height wise, odd exhaust scrape on speed bumps but the back can be raised up and down a bit, certainly no sump scraping! Dad recons it handles pretty nicely as well, and thats comparing to an Impreza STi, Elise and sorted 205! Ride is hard not crashy. I'm only changing cause I'm going the other way :p

Parked next to a std granny squareback last time I ran my G40 square on 175/50-13. From ground up to the underside of the front bumper, 185mm, on my car 85mm

Its a Jackson Tuning kit, which is basically an unbranded version of the majority of other kits on sale.

I've chopped the centre silencer out and sence then I've had no problems whatsoever with ground clearance.
