u try driving a bug with 15mm ground clearance....speed bumps! (turn around)

May have a 70mm kit up for sale soon (front and rear springs and rear shocks). I've found it perfect height wise, odd exhaust scrape on speed bumps but the back can be raised up and down a bit, certainly no sump scraping! Dad recons it handles pretty nicely as well, and thats comparing to an Impreza STi, Elise and sorted 205! Ride is hard not crashy. I'm only changing cause I'm going the other way :p

I'm ok with the odd exhaust scrap! would rather not the floor scrapping lol! what you car like going over those stupid lil land speed bumps? i find if its a short one i will scrap the floor if slit longer its ok taking it with 1 wheel!! see mine so hard if i boot it round a corner it skips!! what make are they mate?? Its a Jackson Tuning kit, which is basically an unbranded version of the majority of other kits on sale.

I've chopped the centre silencer out and sence then I've had no problems whatsoever with ground clearance.

how loud is it with out the centre box then?? cos mine pritty load with it lol!!! i dunno though I'm still tempted to have go for the 40mm kit if it dont look right i prob rip it off!:-)

40mm? Are you having a laugh? :p Pussy's go 40mm, you cant call it lowered at all.

Its not loud at all without the centrebox, still got the standard backbox though.

had a flat tyre to my delight today too!!! couldnt fit jack under lol so had use the crappy one from boot just get it up anouth n then i wasnt even sure the steel was gona fit but was all cool it did!!! lol just gotta find a place round mine that will fit a streched tyre!!! i dont trust the guy at my work with me sexy ats's!!! lol

It replaces the big washer that compresses the front springs when the top mount is bolted on. It's shaped so that it compresses the spring more than the standard one, providing extra lowerage.

I'm pretty sure it does the opposite actually! Its shaped so the the actual spring cup is high up around the top mount.

Hi mate, yes i created the beast, paint codses lp 7v i think with an odd metalic in the laquer. to be honest the car will look gash any other height than 70+, i had it 60 with the arches an it looked so heigh. at the end of the day it was built to be a show car so please please keep it that way. get sum pics up,if your having ground clearance issues get dished 14s and a 60 drop , how much did it go for out of interest? any changes been made? so disappointed that its changed hands so many times, it had one owner before me and when i sold it i really thought i was letting it go to someone whod cherrish it, seems no ones hardcore enough lol, hope you are, pm nme if you need more info, tom

Anyone who's had the original top caps off their car will be able to recognise that the actual bit where the spring seats is much higher up around the top mount bit.

And how do you expect to lower a car by 'compressing the springs'? The weight of the car compresses the springs!

I can asure you i dont plan on seller her any time soon!! so sorry shes all mine cant see why people cept selling her on!! i picked it up for £1600!!(is that a resanble price cos couple guys my work think i got robbed) i planing on getting her top notch!! i have a pair of new front wings fresh for body shop with the ariel smoothed off and transporter vent on drivers side!! i need to redo the rears as they have cracked very bad and rust under the paint around the petrol cap needs doing! i want get the intirior thats black with red strips across it!! wouldnt mind having a cage at some point :-D!! with the door i like it smoothed off but I'm gonna put handle back with either audi handles or i have golf mk2 handles with out the barrel! under the bonnet what i would like to do last in the list of things todo ! is in stead of bling it with chrome was thinking doing every thing a shiny black and so when get strut brace ill get it done in black and so on and pos do all the pipping red!! i wanna get the bumpers with a red strip around it too! i am thinking of putting the sqaure lamp back on not to sure!

oo i dont think i could part with the classics!! I'm in love with them lol where did you find them!! only time they be off the car is winter when i get them refurbed cos one got very bad scuff!!! so i thinking getting set of wellers for that!!

As for the suspention being that it adjustable the guy befor me put it on full setting which is rock hard and it rele doesnt help the handleing as i said befor it skips when booting round a corner + pot holes are a nightmear so i desided against adjustables for my new kit! i think i going for 70mm i dont think it will make it look worse!

I scrape most bumps if there two people in the car, Yesterday i went over some stupid invention of a brick bump the bracket that defendens the cat bottomed out on it, now it rattles when i take off, will have to check it out 2morow. I'm going to be raising up the rear to 60mm as soon as i find out which notch that is on the phil j kit.

ahh those brick things are hell!! i was going in to my uncles pub and this is not long after i had got my car and i could have swarn i parked in there befor but as i went over it and the car came to a grinding hult i remembered i hadnt lol i think was my sump that had hit!!!

there a guy selling a philj kit atm i pm'd him but what are they like to adjust and all that cos i got adjustable shocks on rear and it been hell trying sort it all so kinder gone off adjustable stuff atm!!

Ok had a quick lesson on how to uplaod pics soooooo as i said here couple pics or car i done few bits after these pics like i removed the lower plastic strip put it back to black and now the lil strip between the grille and the bumper has been painted black!!

so there she is :-D!! I'm dam lucky to have her!!!

ok!! the new suspention is in!!!! did it yesterday!! she drives like a dream now!!!! more smoother ride to some exstent lol!! the front shock was totaly foobared!!! so now the car dont bounce every where!!! at the moment the car now sitting at 70/60 but i ran out of time yesterday and only managed to change one front wheel bearing so next sat I'm gonna do the other side and do the back again to get it sitting 70/70!! it still looks rele go but i think 70 at bk just make it look alil better!! its crazy adjusting to driveing over some of the roads i used to being bounced every where and noooow the not so much scrapping lol!!

one thing is when had up on the ramp i noticed the part i keep catching everywhere and its 2 bits metal that stick down and the exhaust run between it!! can they be removed by any chance>?!?!
