skoda??

Featured Replies

 not sure to post this but those of u who know me know my reasons.

well as i have my Heck and my we old austin A35 and just bought a flat, i needed a run about for 2008 as the polos been doing all the work and as a result (10,000 miles later in 8 months) its starting to show.

so the polos going back in the garage to get the body work attended too and the G40 put back in it ready for next year. 8-) af course with some more oem goodies freshly added.

i was going to get another black genesis heck to run about it, (thanks Kam for being willing to check it out) but i would only spend money on it ( i bought some bits already  )so i bought something i wont spend money on.

its all VW wiring, coil. air filter etc and has headlamp washers (washers are all vw bits so a good £50 worth straight away.) and lots of other oem skoda goodies. so its got 12 months mot and. for the same price as a set of audoscape unit i think its ok.

i might get the wheels refurbed as i quite like them and then after the year when it gets scrapped - keep them and the headlamp washers .

its a 1.3 and is still £100 cheeper to insure than a 1.0l fox! and it has a tow bar for carrying polo bits about !!

what do u think ?

its not perfect but its a tidy 1 owner car and 81,000 on the clock.

thanks chaps wasnt sure how it would be recieved! :-)

its going to get used for the year, till i get my polo the way i want it. then at the end of the year i dont think it will be so tidy, so will just scrap it then as its got some good vw bits i want to keep then put the other oem bits on the skoda forum.

its got tinted back lights

green tinted glass

headlamp adjusters

headlamp washers

sunroof (green tinted)

polished wheels with black inserts

leather stearing wheel and gearnob and bigger speakers and tweeters over standard models.

for a skoda its oem'ed up 8-)

looks alright, get rid of those badges and stickers though, looks like a tidy car..

Tommy.

thats too good to scrap. there people on the retro-rides forum who would probably kill for that car! apartently the skoda has the same engine as the polo gt just with spi instead

ah cool! it is a SPi with the dustbin lid air fliter same as the AAU/AAV polos. my dad was joking said put the G40 in it as their is loads of room, but the gerbox mounts different.

think its 65bhp :? I'm not sure but the speedo lies

i think there have been a couple of g'd up skodas. there been a couple of g powered trabants built too. fairly popular in poland, as is the mk3 polo

Isn't the Skoda engine the old OHV unit from the old Estelle?

it might be the later model felica I'm thinking of

Please don´t start to OEM it up more than it is now.:-p

Richard...I've got front strut brace in my lock-up for one of those.

Don't ask me where i got it but you can have it if you want...?

Looks gay just like it's new owner

I'll be over one night next week to see how it compares to the rally micra ;)

Yes the 1.3 is the old skoda unit which even carried on as an increased capacity 1.4 unit well into fabia production.

I have a fabia myself richard as you may know. :) Like yours it has most of the optional extras thrown in for free. :D

Ricardo... I think you're absolutely insane. We need to have a chat :D

its ok peter i stoped myself on ebay from buying a spot lamp grill , wind deflectors and headlamp protectors.

buster that sound s fun as it rolls about a bit in corners.

alans you are micras just as gay, but i have more oem stuff lol :p for a cheep run about its ok but the timing chain (not belt) makes it sound a bit "tanky"

image wise of course it sucks, but my gf has not left me yet so it cant be to bad.

the new skodas like urs gaz are good. i liek the light blue ones.

its ok del the other genesis we discussed is still in the pipe line

As soon as the G40 is back on the road Richard,i'll drop it off one night.

There's nothing wrong with a little bit of timing chain rattle..

trust me ;) ;)

<------------------

cheap runaround i guess dude. you've gone from a square shaped box that is the mk3 polo to a even more square car! gd effort! hahah run it into the ground rich ;)

Like it plenty!

My brother has two Estelles 8-)

Timing chain kits for those are really cheap from a Skoda dealer, 'bout £12 for chain and sprokets
