One of the surround clips is damaged eh? Did it happen while trying to remove the bloody thing? Its far too hard, I've pretty much given up trying to remove mine...

To right there a right c$nt to remove!

Did just about manage it and the gti replacements look far better!

I dont suppose you know any tricks to removing it?

The GTi ones are cool but I've always liked the idea of black ones to match the rest of the interior...

I bet some one would want them if they were free?

I would have them if they wernt for a valver!!

Id put them in my 6n 1.4 8v!

would they not fit onto a 8v 6n? if they would i'd snap them straight up

  • Author

To be honest I don't think they will. I'm pretty sure the 6n and 6n2 have different dash's

Steve how have you put the Gti one in? I really wanna do that but thought the clocks contained the milage etc..so it wasnt really possible unless you'be swapped the engine too?

  • Author

Its not something I,ve had done yet but if you pop to your vw dealer I've been told they can change the mileage to suit!

Although this does sound I bit dodgy if your considering buying a motor from them? :?

  • Author

I just add 33,000 onto mine to get the right milage!

so vw cant do it then?

Cant you just change the surrounds and not the full clocks?

Where did you manage to find them anyway I've been looking for ages. :(
