well iv had my polo 6n for nearly a year now, and i want something different i think, just time for a change.

will have around £3000 to spend, but it has to be low on insurance, coz I'm nearly 18 (no points, no ncb though), but I'm on my dads insurance, so what do you guys recommend?

get yourself a mk5 polo 1.4 or somthing like that lots of cars out there matey

G40 on your dad's insurace shouldnt be that high?

why no keep the polo for a year, get some no claims then get a better car, ncb makes a huge difference

Get a 911 turbo

First I'd recommend getting your own insurance, I found after a few months driving experiance it about the same price as being on a parents insurance.

Means you can then earn some no claims.

With £3000 mate you could easily get a good Mk4 or 5, 1.4 and pay for insurance.

Style: Hatchback, Saloon, Estate, Sports Car, Roadster, Offroader?

Practicalities vs performance:Seating, MPG, insurance costs, power, handling, posing, A-B or more?

So many things to consider really.

I was looking at 16V Polo's and mk3 Golf GTi's. Non of which tickled my fancy, infact to put it bluntly they were crap.

I looked at some Jap cars and I must say, I would rather own a Jap car over the VW equivelant, they're cheaper to buy, better spec'd and more reliable and generally cheaper to insure also, my MX5 is a group 12.

i just got my insurence knocked down by over £900 with 1 yrs NCB.

As people have said it depends if you want to stay with VW!

What sort of car you want also helps, as quinny says what style would help!

id keep your car for a bit if theres nothing wrong with it but build ncb

subaru impreza wrx sti - £1700 fully comp both them quotes with bell when i have 2 years ncb

if you have 3k just save it untill next year and get something with a proper sized engine

wish i hadnt sold my mk4 and dont that but thts a couple thousand £££ later on other cars lol
