After talk of it for ages, And Making my Door speaker pods the other day, i thought i would give the door card re trim a crack, So went to hobbie craft and picked up 140x140 of Leaver style material, and 1mx1m of foam. My first intentions were to pad out the whole door card, but it deemed trickyer than i thought, So i just used the foam on the lower part were the speaker are. After finishing i would then cut the leaver where the 6x9's go, but i had a thought, and decided to screw them in from the back, and would create a steath effect, which i am happy i have done. Here's the finished product, Cost me all of £9.35p, So I'm not complaining , granted its not the best of finishes but for £9.35 who gives a shit, and to be honest i dont think it looks that bad. Will get some more pics up tomorow of them fitted, and try and get the passenger one done asap. I will have some left over aswell so might make use of it.

your so wrong mate, only coverd the speaker in the leather stuff, I also have speakers in the dash for trebble, Just fitted it and it sounds great.Pic isnt that good camera phone, will get some better one's in a bit.

Now thats the kind of thing i will be looking to do !

Such a cheap price aswell .

Wasnt too hard, And bear in mind i have never done anything with material. I have some progress pictures so i was looking to do a how to in the interior section soon.

The in car pic is the money shot for me, makes it look ten times more expensive than it actually cost you.

Def think you should running the cables through proper holes tho. I did this to me old polo so let me know if you wanna hand doing it some time.

Good work so far, but it looks not well handled though.

The problem is the bulge in the doorcard, so you actually should cut it into min. 2 pieces and stitch it.

I know that "bubble" mate, so I decided to spend more money and gave it to the saddlery.

Stuey - Yeh going to drill some hole's in the door's to smartern it up more as i got cables everwere atm lol.

Steil - Yeh but unfortionaly thats somthing i had to do to make it fit. But tbh it doesnt make that much of a differnce, Stiching wise, I'm useless so no chance there lol.

james - Glue mate, Cant really use a staple gun as the doorcards are so thin it will go through one side then out the other and you will have staples sticking out everywere.

just been out to get some more glue, so gonner get started on the Passenger side, will take some pics awell for the how to.

finished the passenger side, I'm really happy with them, if you can live with the slight crease, which tbh is worse through the camera, harderly notice it in the flesh. There both finished now and was worth the £9 to do them. Only bad thing is i can only wind the window down one turn, lol. I could probably do it but i dont want to scratch the leather. So going to make some stubby handles which will look funny but will be tempory as I'm going to be fitting an electric window kit so will be fine then. Any way heres the pictures. Next will be the rears so will update when i start them :)

where have you run the wires through in to the doors? I was considering picking up the parts off a Mk4 polo with e.w's to use the rubber gromits that they run the wires through...

i did mine too, but i left the pockets in the front and i know what you mean about the pictures nt giving them justice

i did my rears too

i got foam to fill the centres, i tried to do it leaving them in but was some real ball ache!!!

i added some cheeky speakers too lol if u need any advice pm me
