My test a week on wednesday...

Featured Replies

Hi people 8-).

I've got my driving test a week on wednesday, Anybody got any tips that will help me on the day?

I've got another 10 hours of driving with my instructor before the test, plus i will be out with the L Plates on for about 10 hour in the next week.

The driving instructor says i just need to remember my mirrors, apprently..that is whats letting me down. Also planning ahead etc.

Also, what are peoples expirences of the driving test?

Thats an idea 8-) i might start writing it on my hand tbh :-D. MIRROR, SIGNAL, MANOEUVRE 8-).

dont let nerves get the best of you. good luck

just dont get worried just chill out and drive dont be over coutus !

Being a test taking veteran (3 Times) I found that if you think you have failed when you start, you tend to find you drive alot more naturally. Just remember the damn mirrors. I know they are the most pointless thing ever unless you are reversing or seeing who is tailgating you but its worth it in the end. Once you passsed, you don't have to do it.

I want out the night before with friends and didn't get to bed as early as my instructor said (had my test at 7.30am), but it helped me relax and i wasn't a bit nervous even though it was my 2nd test and i got 3 majors in my first test, also Remdy Relief helps to make you feel more alert

at the end of the test gently put your hand on the examiners leg,

you never know it might work...

LMAO, lets hope its a women then lol, she might be less strict too :-) ... I hope :-D.

A week on wednesday I'm going to a restaurant for a works lunch!!

Anyway, for your test just relax and you will be fine.

Try and make conversation with the examiner.

If he/she is a nice person they will speak back, I found that helped me. And dont worry about what they are writting down.

Found it quite odd, for the first few minutes my examiner was really chatty and then all of a sudden after about 5 mins he just went silent and only ever spoke to give me directions

I assume they try to ease your nerves a bit and then just let you get on with it, a mate of mine was really talkative and told the examiner everything he was doing but didn't notice he kept lifting his hands off the wheel to point etc, ended up with the examiner telling him he was digging himself a grave and that he ought to shut the hell up :D

I'm sure you'll be fine, just keep calm, remember what your instructor has said and keep checking those mirrors

How many attempts did it take people to pass there driving test?

Did you pass first time? Or did it take a few attempts?

Yes will do mate, I'm gunna put a piece of paper on every door in my house, Saying CHECK YOUR MIRRORS! :-D.

I passed first time. Nothing for the mirrors but I got a minor for the handbrake, I held my foot on the brake pedal whilst a van sat up my arse holding his hand to the horn, callign me all the names under the sun, in the learning test centre car park. Tosspot.

I got another going all the way around a round about because the guy said turn left at the round about, as we pulled up in the right hand lane.

I had three manoueres to perform also, reverse around a bend, parrallel parking and bay parking. I got three minors for bay parking, each time I pulled up to the bay, a delivery van pulled up behind me and held his hand on the horn, this was at the test centre FFS, the minor was for incorrect signalling, handbrake and hesitancy as I pulled away and tried again in another space.

have loads of pro plus and chew gum

Not long now. I cant wait!!! :D.

Don't Panic, even if you do something wrong, the examiner might not have noticed.

After all the examiner isn't beeing watched (unless the examiner is being examined in which case he is being watched)

i bet £25 you'll pass first time!

we're all being watched :paranoid:

1st time 4 minors :-D

Are we having a sweepstake?

jason11 - Pass 4minors

silentbob1989 - Pass 5minors

Well its tomorro :D I cant wait!!!

I'm not really nervous! I just hope i pass :-p .
