My golf g60 oettinger.

It was registered on 18th Jan 1991 as LIP - Y111 by dealer Gebr.Wendt in Lage/Lippe Germany and owned by a guy called Herbert Behrendt. It was a 3dr G60, aircon and sunroof with full factory leathers and it'd been to oettinger from VW factory for a bit of a kick!

It has german history until December 1996 (108, 915kms) at the same dealer.

It was then imported by 'the golf shop' and in the uk was registered on the 13th June 1997 in the uk as H98 JVR. With its first MOT on June 10th 1997. It was featured in December 2007's THE GOLF magazine and even now looks very similar to as seen here

It was owned by a Mr Liam Reece of Stockton Heath, Warrington from 1999 to 2005 in this time it had the following done

At approx 150,000 kms (93,000 miles) - Jan/Feb 99 At TSR Performance, Brand New Vag Bottom End, top end rebuild, supersprint exhaust. Toad CAT 1 alarm at a cost of approx £5,000!!!

Jabba Sport G60 Stage 2 rebuild in Nov 99 at 162,900, kms - 102,000 miles

Various work at Awesome GTI including in Jan 2004 - approx. 203,000 km, 123k miles new bilstein kit (its pretty low now!!) and rear bushes/alignment

NEW 4 port diffuser supercharger at Jabba Sport in Dec 2004 at approx 249,000 km (155k miles) at a cost of £1635

Full Supercharger fittings from Jabba Sport (bolts, belts, tensioner, o rings etc) fitted in Jan 2005 - £233

It then past through a few hands before reaching me -

its had new g60 steels and centres, rear handbrake cables, new power steering fluid and belt, cambelt/tensioner change, charger timing belt change, fuel filter change, slave cylinder, thermostat and coolant, new grill amongst scrap yard/ebay trawling for trim etc. It has now done 280,000kms (173,000miles). It has Mot till June and tax until August 2008.

Being an oettinger its chipped, has a ported and polished head and cam - so it goes well, the interior isnt mint but all the bolsters are good and the leather is in pretty good shape. Outside is also straight and tidy, some rust starting to come through around the windscreen which on g60s are bonded and the usual car parking dinks. Tyres are all 5-6mm and were put on with the new g60s in my ownerships (khumo 195 45 15). It also has an alpine period looking cd player fitted! All usual g60 fittings are there - LHD, PAS, tinted windows, electric windows, ABS etc.

The bad points are - high mileage (but block has approx 80,000 miles on, charger approx 18,000 miles on), electric windows are slow, some rust (not much especially for an 18yr old car) and its lost its alloy sump mentioned in the article - plus it has lost some of the air con (pipes/rad) although the compressor is still there! This means it also has a top mount intercooler - which i was planning to replace at somepoint!

Why am I selling. Its a daily driver I've had a lot of fun on, but with three old vws (including a g40 in need of some love) and this isnt the most economical day to day, infact its cheaper and quicker these days for me to get the train to work. So i'm hoping it goes to a good home! (tbh it had been a little neglected before me) and i'll be sad to see it go.
