Just had some inside info from a family member regarding Durham police force. They've been instructed to pull all modified cars and find faults with them. They've been told to deal with modified cars in the harshest manner.

Just a heads up for all you North East dubbers.

With the euro scene, I can understand tyres rubbing on full lock etc... but what else?

Most people on here probably take more care in their cars being legal than the regular guy, because they are more likely to get pulled?

My car's legit, it passed a MOT last week with the guy commenting on how "mint" my polo was!

My car is pretty much legit atm apart from a couple of tyres nearing the legal limit. I daresay the emmissions would fail an MOT too.

It's definately discrimination, but I'm sure it's directed more at the chav style of modified cars.

My mate got pulled in his vento and they have done him for his plates and i small slice in his tyre! So a total of 3 ppints and £60 fines.... Not good :(

My uncle said he's been instructed to stop and find faults with modified cars. That's all he told me. Pretty straight forward.

what a stupid comment, what makes a modified dub any different to a corsa with a body kit? in fact euro cars are probably worse as theres more chance of them being so low that they are damaged by scraping the road, or wheels that stick out too far, or tires that scrub the arches, or illegal style of plates.

Seems like a shit thing to order, but then most of my mates who are into VW are way more paranoid about their cars being legal than pretty much every other driver i know. If you get pulled, unless its something ridiculous, then you only have yourself to blame.
