I got my car seized on friday for displaying in a car park. (not the best idea i know)

So this is where the problems start.

First off the tow truck was unable to get to the car so a coppa had to drive it to the truck, in doing so he decided that he is allowed to rag the car over all of the speed humps at about 20 - 30 mph, NOT IMPRESSED!!!

I ask politly to another officer on the scene how I make a complaint and another rudly interupts and tells me I dont have a point so shut up and go away.

So i get all details to make a complaint and off the car goes.

Then problem number two, they didnt tell me where the car went who to contact and how i get it back.

Problem 3, finaly find out where the car is, heading there i then find out i have to go to the police station and produce, but the stupid coppa didnt give me a producer he just gave me a street encounter form. At the station i get made to look like the idiot, when it was clearly their mistake.

Problem 4, i finaly get to the impound to find that my car was taken for no insurance?? How that worked i dont know.

The woman sorted this out and said i would be able to get the car WOOP WOOP!!!

Problem 5, this one doesnt bother me. The charge for recovery was £120 and £12 per day. So it should have been about £150, but instead i got charged £100 haha

The moral of the story the police are absolute SH!TE!!!

Do you think i will get anything if i make a complaint against the officer who drove my car??

Could i get the money for the release of my car back?? As it was put down as the wrong thing. Surely the police should pay for this?

Complain, and if youve got a freindly garage mate take it to him n get them to say the sus needs replacing and produce that at the station for the police.

make a complaint to the chief cunstable for your area in writing and then find their number and ring them to ask if your letter has been received. makes it look more like you're serious and not doing it out of spite!

You should hopefully get something out of it as its his responsibility to follow them up.

And anyway, if you got done for driving like a noob, then so should he.

Totally agree, take it up with some one in aulthoity and follow it up so it cant just be dismissed.

It was my second. In the same car park aswell!!!

The first time i was doing donuts n a coppa pulled up next to me when i stopped.

The second time not the same day, i pulled the handbrake and went sideways all the way accross the car park. Was rather impressive.

I want the local council to provide somewhere where i can do that kinda stuff and not care but i doubt thats ever going to happen

Displaying is basicly showing off. So wheel spins, handbrakes and stuff like that.

They cant the first time you get caught. But when you get your second section 59 they take your car straight off you.

Well if they impounded your car because it wasn't insured, and it was, then they did so wrongly. In that case, as they made the mistake and impounded your car for an offence you didnt commit, they should be made to pay for the fees. I would also add a section onto the end of a letter about the conduct of the officers who would not provide any information to you about what was happening.

I see. I was threatened with a section 59 once when i "accidentally" did a rather long wheelspin (in the wet) past a traffic cop who was parked up. I got out of it by saying that i had been in my dads car earlier and it had traction control to which he said "uh..oh..erm...but i've pulled you over in this before...!" (he hadn't - he pulled me over a week before in my dads car because i was driving "suspiciously" - looking for a parking space near my house!!!)

Just pray you dont get a 2nd as it gets more expensive! And if you get a third then your car will be no more i.e they will either sell it or crush it!

I have learned my lesson now so no more showing off to myself in a car park.

I'm going to see if the TRL (Tavel reserch lab) will open up their track as it has off road sections race track and a huge skid pan.

If i manage i will post it up hear and maybe try to get a polo meet there.

Now this might sound a bit sensible, but why don't you just stop showing off to all your chav mates driving like a lunatic in car parks!?!

Some people, namely me & my neighbours, are constantly hassled from the noise, vandalism & disruption brougt on by boy-racers in their sup'ed up polos & other pathetically small-engined-big-exhasted cars. The noise of 'phat' exhausts & screeching tyres is horendeous & can go on until the small hours of the morning - when most people should be asleep!

Not only have boy racers been known to crash into other peoples cars & property without a care in the world, but the hooliganism brings along criminals who willingly commit vandalism & worse. Doing these street races in residential areas is simply dangerous, annoying to locals, and attracting criminals to areas of what were very tranquil.

I love fast cars. I go racing. But when I do, it's on a racing track - with safety features like crash barriers & on-site medics.

Get some cash together with your mates & do it properly by hiring a race track. You'll enjoy it a whole lot more.

I wouldn't be worried about someone going over a couple of speed bumps a bit quick if I abused my car as badly as you do.

So your ragging the hell out of your car then complaining when a copper who has stopped you for anti social, dangerous behaviour drives your car fast over a few bumps. Lucky the car didnt get cubed.

So hang on, instead of doing it in car parks which are kinda well off the road and slightly away from trouble onto the public highway where there are other cars, cyclists, horseriders etc. Now fair enough i loath the last two as much as anyone but is pretty twatty advise and the only positive it that by natural selection most people of this mindset end up upside down in hedges/ditches

Yeah i think Mikee Aka "grumps" should have a look at the cars on the forum before saying they are "boy racer", I dont know many Boy racers who would drive with white walls on there car for starters like i do!! It pisses me off when people slag off modified cars, especially when there driving around there mundane people carriers or Chelsea tractors!! He also makes out as if because we drive modified cars we are also drug dealers and burglars lol

OK, OK, It might have sounded like a generalisation with the drug dealers & burglars, but having had my car vanalised, grafitti'd, broken into... all with smell the sweet aroma of hash in the car park when the chavalanch ride in...... this instance is quite justified.

I found this site trying to work out what the section 59 was. I got the police to slap one on about 20 boy racers tearing around where I live. If they get their car crushed, all the better. Seeing some jerk-off boasting about it, I had to drop in my opinion.

Oh, and for the rest of you Polo drivers... I love em. especially when mod'd stylishly. If the boy racers give you a bad name, so be it....
