I was meant to be going on a family holiday to Dubai & the Maldives with my family this summer - basically first time abroad since 2002. Now my parents have told me they can only get it from the 8th of September for 10 days, meaning it clashes with Polo Show. Now I know some people may think this is an obvious choice, but Polo Show is one of my year highlights and I am (was?) extremely looking forward to it. I don't know what to do, I'm pretty pissed off at the moment and had a row with my parents. If I go on holiday I'll be pissed off I miss Polo Show, if I go to Polo Show I'll be pissed off I didn't go on holiday

Basically it's a lose-lose situation

I know that's the thing. My parents just see it as a silly little show for a silly little supermini, but it's much more than that. It's the whole experience. Polo Show is once a year and once I get my Engineering Degree, I'll be able to afford a holiday any time I want. I still really want to go on holiday, especially Dubai as it is pimp (and was my choice) and Maldives (best tropical beach in the world)

I think my freshers week at uni starts on the same day as the Polo Show, but it will be my first time so I'm not missing it!

Hmmm see the dilemma. Maldives is hot and very nice, chill on the beach and stuff.

Polo show is where the real funs at, drinking till 4am, meeting new people and slip n slide with a blow-up dolly!

Yeah Id vote holiday man! Dubai is soooo dam nice but have to be 21 to drink! And thats only if your not in the side thats dry!

Thats a real shame, but come along to BVF at Malvern in July instead (2nd weekend i think) thats a right laugh, I actually enjoy myself more there than the polo show as its a smaller group and I don't have to do any high-vizing! lol that weekend always has me in stitches! we could do with a few more people coming along this year :-D its generally warmer as well at least you would have made a show and had a laugh. if its the last family holiday then it would be a real shame to not go, there are loads of other things to go to and chances to catch up with mates and their polos :-)

Gutted, eventually I had to go for the holiday. It will be my last holiday ever with my family and they really want me to go so I thought fair enough. That was a really hard decision to make :( Ahh well judging by the pictures it does sort of look ok

Adventurous holidays for me, with stuff to do like paragliding, skydiving etc etc

I was going to say go to Polo Show and come to NYC with the guys! Those pictures look awesome though...just go to ED38...I might go to it as well as Polo Show for some East side VW banter. Def. go for the sun and sand foo' just don't moan about missing PS08.
