Daewoo/Chevrolet Matiz

And you can do better than a Mini for that money too, it depends what you want.

Don't get me wrong I'm a big Mini fan, but it's not really competing for Matiz sales. It's a fashionable car rather than a practical runabout.

It's actually safer than an E36 3 series BMW.

That's suprising! - I'd still rather be in the BM!

I had one as a courtesy car a while back, gave me cramp driving it! (Worst driving position ever, felt like I was falling into the steering wheel!)

Great on petrol though!

Most of the time I'd agree with you, but in an accident I'll take the Matiz thanks!

My old boss had one as a courtesy car. I dunno what they were thinking, he's 6'4" and just shy of 20 stone!

I agree that the car is not that good but if you bye a v cheep one year old car, no mot for two years, two years warranty, serviceing is cheap.

If you go from home to work and back every day or as a second car then its not to bad.

yes there are much better cars out there but if your other option is an old car that you don't have time and money to go fixing it and you don't want to modify it then its ok.

just my 2 cents

Its the side impact of the chevolet matiz which is horrendous

The old daewoo scored better for some reason

i used to work for enterprise rent a car and we used to have these all the time. Upgrade machines we called them, as people would pay anything just to upgrade the car and not drive them.

They are horrible cars even when they are new, they are horrible. At the time i had a 7 year old peugeot 106 which was a far nicer car to drive and not that much more expensive!

I just see people driving them and think "now what on earth made you choose that car over anything else in your price range?"

The only way i can think that she was so blinded to the matiz's shitness was that it was a new car for 5000... :? Are there actually any other new cars for that much?

i'd have saved up an extra few quid and got a Perodua kelisa or Kenari... atleast not many people know what they are!!!

or i'd have imported a Dacia Logan from Romania!!! and still have change.. with teh 1.5dci (renault engine) or 1.6 Petrol lol :D

 Exactly - it all helps identify the obstacle and predefine the behaviour of your potential enemy to progress on the roads!

Even my gutless 1.9D could have that on a hill and cost 5% of the price... :p

she could of just spent half the money on a classic mini and had good fuel economy and have fun driving it !!

i mean its worst in a crash but who cares its fun to drive nippy and easy to park , cheap on insurance , and you can make it your own !!

Some people value safety and practicality over driving pleasure though.

I'm not saying it's right, but not everyone cares if their car's fun to drive. If you're driving your kids to school you want something safe and fairly roomy, and you probably won't care how it drives.

Personally I find driving experience more of a selling point, but there are plenty of punters who want a car like they want a washing machine. Something which does the job, and that's it. Matiz does just that.

I Just found out that she didnt even test drive it before hand :?

I do hope this severe retardation isnt genetic :|

iv just been given the chevy matiz as curtesy car whilst mine is in for repairs, its bad, very bad, i prefer my 1.0 6n. alright it may pic up slightly quicker, but theres not street cred at all. And its spin happy on set off, no weight on the front so wheels spin for fun if you put pedal down too much. Its an SE model with electric windows and CL, but the strange one is, drivers mirror is manual and passanger is electric!! I wouldnt buy one.

My dad's rover's the same, 2 electric windows, one electric mirror.

its rather strange haha, i found it funny when they said its a matiz, I'm 6'2 and around 18stone, and 18year old, so look good in a matiz.
