Hi gang,

My name James, 19 and from the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia.

No Polo's came to Australia until 1994. There is a few Mk1 and Mk2 Polo's here but they are rooted. No Mk3's at all and then yeah they were sold here. Only get a few models.

Once I have finished Uni and got some coin saved up I have plans of coming over to sunny England, purchasing some form of cheap Volkswagen and doing the summer shows aswell as seeing the sights and riding bikes. (Big BMX and MTB rider). Towards the end of my stay the plan is to have modified the car enough (Suspension, brakes, A1 working order, body dont care so much) and make my way over to the Ring. I have to drive it one day for myself...

A Polo might juts be the car I end up getting. Mmmmmmm Mk3 does seem good.

I dont know much about the smaller engines but with my time here I plan to learn.

Cheers James

It belonge to my mates brother, then he sold it ot my good mate Dom and now its been sold to someone in Tasmania.

The more I look on here the more a Mk3 Polo is wanted...

Ill give you the inside word mate.

I dont know any Aussie that says "Throw another shrimp" on the barby" its more like "Mate bang another snag on the burner" translated to proper English: "Please place another susage on the BBQ"

Mis read that then, thought you said bang another slag on the burner

Anyways welcome buddy

Also this is our aussie forum: www.vwwatercooled.org.au

Not crazy amounts of Polo work but there is a bit.

And an insight into the small dedicated Aussie scene.

Sometimes cars get done for being too low (Lowest point muts be 100m of the ground).

And if you rims stick too far out of the guards.

You have to be a right dick to get done. If you dont attract attention from the Police by driving like a dick then you should be ok.

Yeah the y do get our their rulers. Say if you are geting breath tested (To check if you hav been drink driving) and the officer see's you car is low he wil do a road worthy ispection. Ride height, tyre tread, illegal modifications, exhuast noise etc. But you really have to be a dick.

There are some places like Chapel St, Geelong Foreshore, Peir31 etc that are covered in cops so if you have a moded car just dont grab attention to yourself.
