been a good few weeks for the polo! but not for my bank account

picked up my wheels a couple of weeks ago

changed the drums and rear bearings saturday

bought some bits and bobs off a guy from work whos owned various mk2 polos and mk2f gt's including this:

IMG_20120829_213903.jpg

which I'm not sure what to do with, do the usual black with polished raised bits or go all out polished, opinions?

these arrived today thanks to brewsterpros

IMG_20120829_183301.jpg

and its booked in next tuesday to have its tca\'s changed (need doing for m.o.t.), both track rod ends as one is defiantly stuck/worn, get it tracked up straight finally and lowered 20mm on the front at the same time! and while its there its having the m.o.t. done as its due in late september anyway and they are doing it so may aswell get it all done at once

LONG OVERDUE UPDATINGZZZZ!

done a few bits and bobs in the last 2 and a bit months! errrm trying to remember in what order  so yeah id just taken my stickers off and got the coilovers

i didnt do much in october due to being poor so pretty much the only thing i did was fit a £2.99 black sunstrip and some black plastic wheel bolt covers haha

IMG_20121111_140734.jpg

IMG_20121111_140741.jpg

excuse the flakey paint, lack of shineyness and porsche centre caps I'm going to refurb them over the winter!

then a couple of weeks ago in october i changed my interior for a darker/black one so i have black gt rear doorcards, cl front doorcards with a funky pattern, a leather trimmed split g40 rear bench and g40 front seats

IMG_20121111_141355.jpg

IMG_20121111_141402.jpg

if anyone wants my grey gt interior it is for sale in the interior section ;)

last weekend i got my brake discs and pads changed, oil changed and oil filter changed ready for the winter months, whilst it was on the ramp i had a look at the underside of my car and found this

IMG_20121102_105131.jpg

it wasnt even low :lol: and while i was there i got my rear screen changed as my old one has sticker glue on the bottom which showed up when it was damp and only 3/15 heater rails worked!

so old one out

IMG_20121102_113347.jpg

spare one in

IMG_20121102_111400.jpg

the day after that i got working on the lowerage finally!!!

front before

IMG_20121103_103457.jpg

rear before

IMG_20121103_103508.jpg

so i got my old already 10mm lower front springs that i took off thinking my new ones would lower it when i in fact raised it... and did this

IMG_20121103_121246.jpg

and i also got these fitted ;)

IMG_20121103_154921.jpg

so then it sat like this

IMG_20121104_101308.jpg

IMG_20121104_105813.jpg

IMG_20121104_101322.jpg

IMG_20121104_152555.jpg

as good as that last pic looked it was too low on the rear and had reverse rake so needed adjusting, i will go lower once i have a more lows friendly exhaust system!

so yeah i got the coils adjusted so it matched the front lowerage and it now looks like this

IMG_20121105_154611.jpg

which i am happy with especially as I'm running 13's with 175/50's on 7j fronts and 195/45's on 8j rears, also as this will be my winter height! so yeah that brings it up to date

aaaand heres a random pic from where i was working one day last week, it looks so small!

IMG_20121106_125335.jpg

and I'm collecting a gt gearbox in a couple of hours which i'll get cleaned up and fitted maybe with a cl 5th gear, probably fitting it in january as I'm gonna be poor again for a bit

thanks for looking :)

I'm thinking you should go for semi colour coded bumpers. The front end has just too much black going on!

APart from that, aye that's fuckin low.

when are you going to lower this then??

Go on go on just colour code them.

cheers max! i have an upside down vw one in my garage i was given, might spray it and use it next year for a change

This, and lowering....

does need lowering so front coilovers next year and a full exhaust system for better clearance too, only got 2" with this one on at the moment :|

turns out a top mount hadnt gone

IMG_20121123_104212.jpg

this collars welds had come off the shock insert  this collar was meant to sit nicely in the top, which meant there was a little side to side movement in the housing, fixed it now though but yeah coilies next year!

alot of people who own 6n's say they want to sell up and get one of these! its funny that ;)

not got much planned this month or so for the polo just picked up a ported g40 inlet for it which i'll put on along with the ported throttle body i've got but that'll be next year now

other than that i'll be putting my winter wheels on tomorrow which are 5.5j lupo steels with 165/55 acceleras on the front and 7j banded 6n steels with 165/55 nankangs on the rear, all with the original lupo wheel trims on 8-) gonna refurb the cults up for when the whether is good again also as they need painting and polishing properly really

here they are if anyones interested in looking at some unfitted steel wheels with wheel trims on

pic with steels and trims fitted from the local lowdown meet, people seem to like my car on these wheels more in general :? just shows how much effort i need to put into refurbing the cults then!

winter plans:

- clean up gt gearbox and maybe get a cl 5th for it ready to fit next year

- polish mk2 rocker cover and fit with new seal to prevent slight leak

- polish inside of already ported throttlebody for that extra 0.00163bhp to fit next year

- clean inside and out of gas flowed/ported g40 inlet manifold to fit next year

- polish dish on rsl cults properly

- paint centres of cults gloss black

- sort out centre caps maybe just some vw stickers on the porsche caps

- decide on new tyres for cults front and back, 195/45/13 are no longer in production so might get 175/50/13 all round

- purchase unused stainless 4-2-1 manifold off friend

- save up for front coilovers and custom exhaust to be purchased after payday in january so february time
