Hi, i undertook most of the original mods on this car around 2 years ago. I know its changed owners a few times since, but would love to know who now owned it and what it looks like now

Its mine mate, looking a doing a few bits, just had the head gasket done, the cars got quite a few reciepts with it but need to sort out some damage to the front as some muppit hit me in nuneaton. How bad is the damage?

The amount of receipts was endless, an old guy had it from new and had it vw serviced every year until around 2008 i think, when he died the car changed name to his wife and then to his grandson for a few weeks for him to sell it on.

Here is where I came in and brought it completely standard, got the scirroco gt2 seats, gt steering wheel and colour coded the strip on it, front fogs, lowered 60/40 on philJ shocks replacing the top mounts also, Gt bumpers, flat blade wipers, Mp3 headunit, a splitter off a megane, colour coded the rocker cover with about 40 layers of paint and lacquer, removed the side strips very slowly and carefully so not to loose any paint, clear side repeaters and indicators, badge-less grille and some black mk1 gti tarantula alloys.

I know the guy I sold it too had partial respray which was unneeded in my opinion on the wings (had a 5p size rust patch) and i think the doors but unsure.

Ahh cheers mate, yeh its got steels on it atm with trims, and no splitter, but i wil need to replace one wing, grill, bonnet, undergrill metal thing, and front bumper, its kinda annoying cuz of the respray but shit happenes, I've had the damage hammered out by my dadas mate who is good with bodywork, but I'm just collectijng the peices to make it look good as new.

Also its defo lower than 40 on the back atm but i think I'm getting coilys at around xmas time hopefully too.

When I fitted the shocks on the rear they have 4 positions i belive, the setting I had it on was the highest so I'm guessing the guy I sold it to whacked it to the lowest.

Shouldnt need coils, have a look at adjusting them before buying anything as these shocks /springs are only about 18months old

yeh mate I've already had a look and ill be defo getting coils for the front, and how much you want for the badged grill mate and do you have a polo still then?

Its as clean as the car (apart from dust) all clips still perfect. I have the original steering wheel aswell if your interested, 3 spoke jobby.

Not got a polo atm, regret selling that one as i doubt ill find a cleaner one, had a good opportunity to get a lupo sport at a great price at the time so decided to sell it. Got a golf gt tdi atm but would love to come back for a g40 or maybe a gt bready, always on the look out!

Yeh mate I'm from hinckley in leicestershire, and yeh I'm chuffed with it, all cars have there problems but shes a keeper, and I'm happy with my steering wheel mate.
